I finished up installing my new Monster Tower this weekend. Here are a few pics of how it turned out. Bill, I will take some better pics when I get it out on the water to send in for my free T-shirt.
I have a question though..... In regards to the swivel collar on the top of the tower, not the leg swivel but the one that allows the top part of the tower to rotate from front to back. Is this piece supposed to be able to move? I can't see anything other than the two set screws on each side that will keep it in place. Even with these set screws locked down tight there is still movement. Is it supposed to be this way or did I miss something in the install instructions?
Other than that, the tower looks great! I can't wait to get a pull behind it. Gonna need some better weather though.
Thanks,
Richard

| Those monster towers look so great on smaller inboards. Yours and the one on that blue Moomba are the best I've seen by far.

One of two things will stop the top swivel. There are two hex head "dog-point" set screws on each side.
Loosen one almost all the way out, then run the other all the way in. Same for both sides.
If no luck with that, they will send you a larger cap head bolt to put in.
What you have is those 2 dog-point screws sort of making it ride suspended, for lack of a better word. That is, each screw is holding it slightly away from either side and has created sort of a pivot.
Guaranteed fix. - Then it wont move if you try to tow the USS Enterprise!

I cant say it better than DiyGuy did, holler to us at support@monstertower.com with your mailing info and we'll send these to you. We are also going to change the two set screws from being 180 to 90 degrees apart.

Thanks Bill. I just e-mailed you my mailing info.
Now do I use 4 of these large cap head bolts or just one on each side as DIY GUY suggested with the set screws? I'm assuming either way I sholud srew these in as tight as possible?
Thanks,
Richard

Just replace the two set screws on each end of the top section with the one larger bolt. It forces the shaft against the inside of the collar it rotates in. Few customers have needed this but for those that do it always locks it correctly.

Nauty...
Might see ya on L'ville, sometime - W side, S shore - Nice job on the install! You'll love the tower - people DO note the size of the larger pipe on it. Very recongnizable!

We finished installing out Monster Tower on our boat this past weekend. Their great customer service shipped us out a new front leg today because it has a blemish where the anodized finish was missing. Waiting for that to come then i'll talk some pictures. Haha we did break two drill bits while trying to drill the holes for the set screws. No big problem though. Everything else is great. Thanks Monster Tower.

DiyGuy and Myk,
Definitely need to hook up for a ride. I'm looking to get out there this weekend if the weather holds up. Although I think I'm headed to Grapevine or Tin Top this weekend depending on where some other friends want to go.
I live off of Shady Shores, so I'm all of two minutes to the boat ramp on the west side of old Lake Dallas (lewisville). Thanks for the props on my install. Just waiting on my racks to come in and then I'll be good to go!

We are "GO" for Sat - around 1 or so. So long as the wind isn't white-capping, were good to take the 1st shot of the season.
Run us down if you're out!
