Wasn't the Rhode Island thing a Great White concert? The jokes are going to come fast and furious.

i was driving down the road yesterday and we saw one of my parent's favorite resteraunts burn down. it was this mexican place that had only been open for like 2 years. the whole thing just burned to the ground. they say that it started in the bar and not the kitchen which i found surprising

The same thing happened here a few days ago when another band's pyrotechnics set off a fire. No one died though.

I hope people are not making jokes about this tragedy! I just saw where they released the new death toll at 75 dead. This could happen to any of us/ anywhere/ at anytime. Let's just think about the the people lost and their families. I see tons of bands a small venues and now that I think about it. This could have happened to me in several ocassions. THIS MAKES ME VERY SAD! Sad

does anyone know if the band made it out? such a sad day. the fire departments here in washington state are pretty strict on codes, permits and the number of people allowed in the building. not to place blame but to prevent this in the future. Crying or Very sad

I saw the lead singer being interviewed, he said the guitarist was missing, i dont know about the rest though...he also said the club gave them permission to use the fireworks in the show, but the club owner says "we were shocked when we saw sparks, we had no idea he was going to use fireworks...we wouldnt have allowed it" this band apparantly has a history of "surprise fireworks shows" too. Crying or Very sad

I grew up 10 miles from that club. That same town had a shooting a coupl of years ago where two young adults F-21 and m-22 were carjacked at a mall and shot(w/45) on an unfinished golf course for alittle money and their car (4-runner). i became good friends with this girl and Knew her boyfriend pretty well. Very saddening. i hope nobody i know was involved in this tragedy. Somebody is in alot of stuff for this one!

Thanks for the info I finally got a chanc to see it on the news. I am waiting to hear back from my father to find out if any of my cousins were in there. A few of them work in the business in Rhode Island (Providence, Warwick, Bristol)

This is very sad and the joking is not funny.

I came into work last night and the local news station was there interviewing the guy that books all the bands for our club. Great White had just played at our club recently. We not only had the news crew there but the fire marshalls were walking thru the club checking EVERYTHING. We had a live concert last night and some people thought there was a good chance we could have gotten shut down because if what happened in Rhode Island.

What makes me mad is I have never seen the fire marshalls walk thru our club. But it takes a tragedy like this for them to be on alert and actually do their job.
