2. You make over $300,000 and still can't afford a house.
3. You take a bus and are shocked at two people carrying on a conversation
*in English. *
4. Your child's 3rd-grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Breeze.
5. You can't remember...is pot illegal?
6. You've been to a baby shower that has two mothers and a sperm donor.
7. You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and you can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian
8. You know which restaurant serves the freshest arugula.
9. You can't remember....is pot illegal?
10. A really great parking space can totally move you to tears.
11. A low speed police pursuit will interrupt ANY TV broadcast.
12. Gas costs $1.00 per gallon more than anywhere else in the U.S.
13. A man gets on the bus in full leather regalia and crotchless chaps. You don't even notice.
14. Unlike back home, the guy at 8:30am at Starbucks wearing the baseball cap and sunglasses who looks like George Clooney, really IS George Clooney.
15. Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment.
16. Your hairdresser is straight, your plumber is gay, the woman who
delivers your mail is into S &M, and your Mary Kay rep is a guy in drag.
17. You can't remember...is pot illegal?
18. Its barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news

19. You have to leave the big company meeting early because Billy Blanks himself is teaching the 4:00pm Tae Bo class..

NorCalStud686, they are pricey everywhere. I wouldn't say you can't afford a house unless you make $300000 though. More like $100000 for nicer areas and $75000 for decent areas.

It doesn't matter - I'm done with cookie cutter houses on 1/5 acre parcels. I'm buying property and building custom next time.

chavez-y-chavez, places like Pleasanton 100,000 wouldnt get you an apartment. i mean like there were 60 houses on the market there last month, only 2 were 600,000 or lower, and more than half were over a mil.

where do you thiknk you will get property? mabye WAY up north, or oregon. but i doubt you will have an easy time finding decent land for a decent price.

NorCalStud686, who said P-Town. Slide over to Liverwhore and you can get a joint if you make 100k, especially at current interest rates and "creative" financing.

If you make 100K you can have your run of apartments... Last time I checked they were going for 1200-1800. Also, I know of people who have picked up rental houses in San Ramon for 1800 -> San Ramon IS more expensive than P-Town...

I will pick up some land in the lower Placer Co. area. There is still land available in Auburn, Penryn, Loomis and Newcastle for halfway reasonable prices. Hell, I could buy a nice cookie cutter house in Lincoln right now for 300k or less - Lincoln is only 6mi north of central Roseville...

chavez-y-chavez, yeah it sure doesnt. but i would take a Glassy lake over the dirty Delta anyway. i guess i would if the lake was small though, i hate having to turn around and stuff. but one good thing about lakes are Double Ups Very Happy

especially when the boat is totally sacked out.
