I am looking for a new board for my girlfriend.. I have received a good deal on a belmont 131 (2003) with new Era bindings (2004).

Does anybody have some experience with this board..?

I already found some good reviews on this forum about the board.
But i just want some more reviews..

Thanx in advance.!!

I have a Belmont 131. It's OK, but if she is a beginner, she really needs to demo the board. I thought I really liked it at first, but now I think I like a little bit bigger board better. I bought a Ricky Gonzalez 138 this past weekend and will be trying that out.

I have hyperlite splits and spins and I like both.

I don't know why, but for me the Belmont is a little too sharp and not quite as soft landing. The girl I bought it from felt the same way. On the other hand, I definately prefer it to a lot of other boards I tried out at the same time.

Good luck. If she can demo the board, definately do that.

The 131 is for a small girl. I'm 5'4" 125 lbs and found it to be really slippery when I demo-ed. I ride the Belmont 136 and it treats me real good Very Happy

I have the 131 - I like it but it is much heavier than others' boards that are longer - not sure why? Anyways, I really haven't compared it to other boards so I really have no idea if there are other things out there I would like better...

I have a premier 135, and an essence 131, the essence is nailed to my wall if thats any indication on how good it is. I'm 5'4'' 120 and I love my 135, longer is better, nuff said.

Last year she used a LF trip 128, and really liked that board.
This will be her second year of "real" wakeboarding and she is just starting to like it. To demo boards around here is really difficult (read impossible). So i think i will take the change that we maybe next year have to upgrade.

Thanx for all of your advice so far. Very Happy

Nice set up!

Isn't that always the way? I've had my board for a week now and not been able to go out yet. This weekend is it though. I feel it in my bones. Lake Mary Jane here I come.

Okay...let me tell you I have been riding for 3 years. I am 5'1 and weigh 100 pounds. My boyfriend bought me an Obrien Siren for a beginner board..great beginner board by the way. But then I grew up. I just bought the Belmont 131 in Feb. rode it last weekend in the choppiest water you CAN'T imagine and slapped about 1000 rollers. IT IS THE BEST BOARD! I had such control, got bigger air, landed switch, LOVED IT, LOVED IT...SOOO recommend it!! Good Luck! Hey, make sure you buy some washers for the fins though, first time, mine loosened up quite a bit. I took some plastic washers off my old siren and hooked it up.

I live in hollland, so mentioning the store wont help you much probably.
It was a package deal, the board was from 03 and the bindings were new.
Now i bought it at around 75 % of the new price..

Overhere a new board and bindings wil cost you around $750 and i bought this
one for $500.

She is riding it now for some time already and she really loves it !
i could suggest it to everyone..
