I just found out, after a year, that my fuel pump cooler was suposed to have a check valve added in the line. has anyone got any experience with this solving the problem? i have a 350 mpi, upgraded pumps and bits, im just hoping that this will FIX it, not make it just ok, just not? _________________ Any trick without a biatchslap in it sounds good to me |

I've never heard of vapor lock on motors with fuel injection. Typically it occurs on carbureted models when the fuel boils and actually turns to vapor prior to reaching the carb.
This was VERY common with the 70s model Ford pickups. Also seen it on 80s model CC 2001s with the 351s as well. Common fix is rerouting the fuel line away from the source of the heat or insulating it.
Usually the motor will turn over and run fine from a cold start. The vapor lock occurs after the motor is up to operating temp, you kill it and are trying to turn it over again.
I would be surprised if you're getting that situation on a more modern model with fuel injection. Was this motor rebuilt recently? |

My fuel injected Merc 350 MPI engine had vapour lock. To fix it (under warranty) they installed another fuel pump (in addition to the existing one) to keep more of the fuel line pressurized.
It was a 2002
