Heating water

I have been trying to find a way to heat my lake.. Do you think a laser like they wanted to use for the star wars project could heat a small lake?

If you get like 12 laser pointers it would work. And not the red ones. They are crap. Get the green ones. Here are the steps:

You will need: 12 green laser pointers, 2 forks, 1 220V outlet.

1. Put all 12 laser pointers in your mouth and aim them at the lake.
2. With a fork in each hand, insert the forks into the 220V outlet (it won't work if you try to use 110V)
3. Work the lasers around the lake. Try not to be distracted by the involuntary muscle spasms, cardiac arrest, and burning hair smell.
4. Do this for about 3-5 minutes depending on the size of your lake.

That's a whole lot of pee... I'm also in agreement with Dutch. I warm the water everytime I'm in it.

Dragonlady8, as long as you are upstream of where scott a rides it's ok. So that means um Sac is clear... All of so-cal is dirty.

cameraboy, that equation applies to any fresh water at any temperature regardless of the air temperature around it. As for maintaining temperature... water and air will naturally come to an equilibrium. You would have to continue to apply energy to the water to maintain the temperature.

Either way, he asked a dumb question because no one has the money necessary to heat a lake big enough to wakeboard on. Not only that, but warming the lake would pose a serious threat to the lake's eco-system.

OK, I think I got It! A huge Hollow cast iron ball with those construction heaters in it so the ball can sit on the bottom and have an opening in the top so air can get in and just run that thing for like a week. It's like 34 deg right now and we only have to go to 60.

He was killed by a cheap shot. The duel wasn't like in the movies where they start back to back and walk away and then fire. They would stand a good ways away and whoever got challenged to the duel got to take the first shot. Hamilton got to take the first shot and he shot his gun straight up in the air. This was out of respect for the other person but showing up to the duel made him not look like a coward. Typically the other person would also shoot their gun in the air and then they would have a mutual respect for eachother. Kinda like when two friends get in a fight, no matter who wins the problem is usually solved. Well Aaron Burr pulled out his gun and shot Hamilton rather than firing it in the air.
