Let me know what you think.
I'm going to buy a boat.
It will be one of these...

2002 Supra Launch SS
White/Black, with perfect pass, and all of the options including tower speakers. Inmar with 110hrs
$26,000

2003 Calabria Cal-Air
Orange/Black with Checker graphics, tower, and mercruiser 350MAG with 15hrs.
This Calabria does not have quit as many options as the Supra.
$29,000

I'm ready to ROCK THE WATER!! Help me make this decision!! Question

I havn't ridden behind a supra either, although I have heard they are nice boats. But I have 2004 Cal Air Pro-V and I can tell you It is every thing I wanted in a boat from wake size and shape to ride and handling and the interior we call the dance floor. I dont think you'll go wrong with either boat but for what its worth I would look hard at the Calabria.

i can't say enough about the launch... yes I do have one so I'm biased, but hey, there's a very good reason why we bought it, it's a great all around boat.

Calabria has the best ballast hands down. This is my second Calabria and The wake is awesome with one sack under the rear seat.

I disagree... yeah I believe 700lbs in less than a minute is a great process, but I think they need to double the amount of weight it holds... these days, 700lbs stock just doesn't cut it.

have you ridden it? It comes down to personal preference. I have an SSV and thought the world of it after demo-ing many wakes, but not everyone thinks so. On the other hand, many people love Nautique wakes, but they don't fit my style. So everyone is different. For some people, especially beginners, 700lbs may be enough. It just depends. Try them out and see what you think.

Best functing ballast system is what he meant. Without pumps that break down and time not wasted waiting for it to tanks to fill it is by far better than anything else out. Some say that those things don't matter to them and thats fine. If a ballast system goes along with the build of a boat and the wake is nice I think 700
LBS. could be good for most people and then a good start for more advanced riders that will add more weight.

I personally still add weight. I would add weight to any stock ballast system, but it is nice that it only takes a min for the first 700 lbs and it doesn't take up any usable space that I would use for additional weight. I am not saying that the stock ballast is all you need but it is the easiest, fastest, and least space consuming of any system on the market.

How much does the supra have, and how long does it take to fill and empty? Also how much storage space do the tanks or bags use? I thought so....The only "stock" ballast that compares is in the new x-stars...but wait, that's Purevert too.

where in my post did I ever say that the supra's ballast system did cut it? where in my post did I ever say the supra's ballast system took up too much storage space? Your assumption that I was stating that the supra's ballast system was better than the calabria's was completely wrong. The fact is that I never compared the supra's ballast system to the calabria's... but no really, good argument Laughing

nice way to leave me a chance to reply. Very Happy

Anyways,
you saying that calabria has the best ballast hands down is simply your own biased opinion. The same way that many people believe that Malibu's wedge is the best ballast system because they can put it down in less than 15 seconds and it more than doubles the experienced weight of a calabria, also not using any interior space whatsoever. The difference between many of them and you is that many of them post in ways that say something to the extent of "I think that the wedge is the best... blah blah blah" whereas you stated your opinion as fact, when it was not that at all. The fact that I'm giving you stuff right now, and I am, on purpose, is because you have a habit of becoming very defensive when someone says something even remotely negative about your particular brand of boat and I believe that your ideas/arguments are flawed.
