Tige' 22i-R or 21i

Anyone with any Tige' 22 i type R or 21 i experience ? Is the 22 i as good a wake board tow as their brochures say I wonder ? thanks for info on this .. and my son is asking about a slalom wake behind them too .. thanks ..

typically the most common answer is: "you have to add more weight to get larger wakes for these two direct drives...."

both wakes are very similar if not almost the same. I have a 21i-R, and have two friends with a 22v and a 22i-R. The 22v is the bigger of the 3 and takes less weight to get the "big wake". But on the same side, if you weight that 22 or 21, you get an awesome wake as well for boarding. It's very solid, and depending on your wieght configuration will determine the fine tuning of the shape (as well as the taps).

This weekend, we loaded my 21i up with 600#s in the gullwing, 500#'s under the rear stadium seat, 400# in the bow, plus 4 riders in the boat (the 5th being pulled), and the wake was great....i think someone summed up wakes pretty good one time here at WB.com by saying, "anything above knee level is a bonus"....

and yah, empty that ballast and drop the taps to 1-3, and you've got an excellent slalom tow.

I have an 03 21ir and I love it. Put a little weight in it and the wake is huge:) Empty it and you can ski the hell out of it;)
