Okay, now I'm getting confused. I had narrowed my choices to two, but now I have a third option.
In the previous post I was down to...
Supra Launch SS
Calabria Cal-Air
Now for aprox. $3000 more I can get a Launch SSV.
Does the V-drive make a $3000 difference in boats?
Wake?
Resale?
Boat condition is VERY comparable.
SSV has a tandem trailer, both the other have single axles.
PLEASE HELP!!

wake is easier to get bigger with a vdrive befcause the engine is already in the back of the boat. and it ups resale quite a bit i think.

Both have there advantages and disadvantages. V-drives seem to have more interior room because you dont have the engine in the middle. D-drives typically handle better and are better for making small wakes. If you are only wakeboarding behind it I would go with the V-drive. I have a d-drive and there is no room inside once you get fat sacs a few people and boards. V-drives are tougher to work on because of poor accessability. The V-drive also typically has more storage room because of the side lockers.

Are you only going to wakeboard on this boat? Do you plan on waterskiing at all? If you just want to wakeboard then go V-Drive, If you have family members that want to be serious about waterskiing then think about the DD...

I am a D-Drive person, but for that difference I would say the SSV is the way to go.

I too, have a d-drive. I like way people are spaced out in a D-drive.

Get the best of both worlds, go with the SV-211. I have attached pics of both wakes, 36mph and 19mph. My boat does not have the ballest tanks and I do not have fat sacks, that would only make the wake better for wakeboarding. I have a bro that has a 196 and the ski wake is not a lot different. The gate makes a lot of difference in the wakeboard wake, it makes the wake about three or four inches higher and it reshapes it and makes it steeper. If I had the ballest tank option it would be huge. I had a MC Prostar 190, it was a great boat but no room in it.

V drive for sure. Way more space, quieter, easier wake building, more storge, and I think, better ride in the chop and double ups. I have a loaded 2000 Wakesetter VLX with 215 hrs for sale if anybody is interested. (352)-572-6174 or briggsr@law.stetson.edu
