drifter36, that is so sad. There is absolutely nothing you can do to a Camry to make it "cool". Toyota's and Honda's are similar in this aspect - nothing but tin cans!

chavez-y-chavez, unless the ricer was chasing your bro and his buddy around, it sounds like they aren't guilt free do to the fact that they were racing. BTW, if your bro and his friend were on street bikes (crotch rockets) then they should have smoked the car...so either they were being harrassed by the car and ran off the road, or they were fcuking with the people in the car and stuff happened.

I think two ricers were racing taking up both lanes of a two lane road coming towards the bikes head-on around a corner. The way I understand it the bikes weren't racing anyone.

im in agreement about the ricers. there are a few around my school and then a few around where i live. i have respect for only 1 guy cause he actually knows what hes doing. and he hasnt done any external mods to his car ....its a sleeper. but the fact remains ...he still owns a ricer. just think about the guys that were into this stuff before "the fast and the furiuos" ....now theyre prolly so pissed off that so many people think theyre cool cause they have those kinds of cars. I guess I'll be the only one to say that I like Japenese cars, but I sold mine and decided I wanted a new boat instead. I wasn't a jackass when I drove my car nor did I think it was that fast. It was fun to drive though and got great gas mileage.
For all those ripp'n on "ricers" are you gonna tell me that kids that drive domestics are good drivers and don't do stupid things? I used to get Mustangs and Cameros pull'n up to me in the middle of town all the time wanting to race.
Oh and those bikes Chavez's friends where on, those where ricers. Wink

Dutch, you must not understand what a ricer is. A ricer is a foriegn car that has had it's outershell reworked and remolded, who's owners think that the more plastic you put on your car, the faster it will go. Like having a huge wing on the back of an accord, or having a tail pipe the size of a watermelon. Also, the owner is under the impretion that if you add racing decals and stickers of auto parts, such as putting a V-Tec sticker on your camery, that somehow in the middle of the night, the engine fairy will come down and put in all theses parts. They think you get about a 5hp gain for every sticker!

Now dutch..if that isnt you or your car, then you didnt own a ricer!

Dpierce37, I think there is just a generalization of people that drive Japanese cars. There are really two groups. Those that actually really enjoy driving and improving/modifying their cars (WRX, EVO, S2000, and some Civic owners) and then there are the morons that add all kinds of crap to a car and think it's as fast as a Vette and try to drive it like one too.

I'll let you be the judge if mine was rice or not and believe me, you won't hurt my feelings if you rip on my old car.

Oh, and that's a DC and a Hyperlite sticker on the side window. My tool box in my garage is where I put the automotive stickers. But I think the DC sticker added 5 hp. Wink

Dutch, I dont consider that a ricer. It's actually a nice looking car. Thats what I would call a sleeper. I like cars to look almost stock, but with nice rims and tires. You kept the stock fin, so that gets you points. at least its a honda with a V-Tec sticker Laughing

Now, if you had an extral large fin taken from an F-15, added ground effects moulding around the car, had a neon blue light underneath, and an over the top paint job....then that would be a ricer. You dont have big racing stripes going down the middle do ya?

ya, and my Vtec sticker came stock on my car. I've seen them on toyotas, nissans and yes even on a Mustang. God, that was funny. That's when I had my Honda. I drove up next to him and we asked how he liked his Vtec. For some reason he didn't say anything. Laughing

I wouldn't really call my old car a sleeper. It looked faster than it was. I think by the time I was done adding engine mods I still only had about 170hp.
Now my friend had an '85 Buick Regal with stock rims and cheater slicks on the back that was pulling high 11's at the track. It looked like a total piece of crap but was all engine. Now that was a sleeper.

yah dutch ....your honda wanst a "ricer". i personally have no problem if someone wants to buy a japanese car. its just like DPierce said ....its when they start adding all the crap to it and then suddenly they think theyre hotstuff and can beat every car in a race cause theyre car looks fast.
