flat or concave

OK, I understand that flat boards are suposed to be better for beginers but nobody has really explained why. What are the diferences in handeling and pop characteristics between the two types of boards?

Basically, they're better for beginners because you're not going to be dropping 200.00+ dollars on something you're not sure you'll really like. If you buy a flat and you find out you don't like wakeskating, it's not a huge deal. And realistically, at your skill level, any trick you want to do can be done on a flat deck. But if you're absolutely certain that you'll love wakeskating, then a concave wouldn't be a bad deal. The best thing about a concave is the fact that you have kicktails to leverage off of, and the shape of the deck fits your foot a bit better and you have more control. But like I said, you could ride either and more often than not, you can't blame a flat deck for tricks you can't do (within reason, of course. I'm talking shoves, kickflips, etc). Happy shopping...

Get a concave, a flat board might seem nice but you will want something with a little more kick in the back after a while,
