Do any of you have a problem finding a life vest that fits? I've been using mine for a little over a year now, and my foam ALWAYS rides up in the back. I'm looking to get a new one, and I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions? I currently have the O'neil outlaw... and I tried on the new one, and it doesn't fit right. Anyone else have that problem with the vest not sitting on their shoulders right? But anyways, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Might want to check out the Ripcurl Stealth vest - It's got the big strap on the inside that goes around your stomach. I think that would help with the vest staying down. I know the Neilpryde impact 5000 vest has it too. Check out www.caribecatalog.com for those vests - they have some killer deals on them.

Are you wearing a Mens or Womens vest?
My problem isn't the back riding up, it's getting a good fit for the "girls"
The mens vest are too big around the arm hole and the womens vest just make the chest area very bulky.

I wear a small Nevin and it's the best one I've ever worn. Fits me perfectly and has a little kidney belt. I think you've just gotta keep trying them until you find something. The new '04 O'Neill ones I've tried are comfy, but they don't float much.

i agree with you guys, there's like no perfect women's vest. the chaist area IS too bulky... and for those of us who happen to have a lot up top, that's never easy to deal with in a life vest. And seriously, what is up with the arm holes on guys vests?! there's almost no way any girls could ever use them!

Women's vest are way to small and bulky overall. I bought the O'neil Vapor and I love it. At first I though it looked weird ad laughed when people said it was an awsome and really comfy vest. Go try one on and I guarentee you will fall in love with it. You won't even want to take it off. Its not USCGA, but it floats fine. I used to be against noncga vest, but this one is awsome.

yeah, vests always seem to be tight in the chest area...haha, i know this sounds crazy, but i use my little brothers life jacket, i found its a little snug so it doesnt ride up and the arm holes are pretty big so theres no restriction

Had to revive this thread cuz I'm thinking bout asking for a new vest for xmas. I went to my local shop today to try some on and I agree with you guys...mens fit better. I tried on one of the girls and felt like Tommy Boy...that fat guy in a little coat bit Smile Way too short! Are any of you girls wearing Jet Pilot vests? The only one they had there was a small side entry and seems like it ran a bit bigger than the Oneill/HO/HLs. In the latter three I felt good in a men's small but that Jetpilot one seemed like it needed to fit a bit tighter so I guess I would need a xsmall. Also anyone wearing a side entry? A friend of mine has one and he's always getting it twisted up and coming undone...but it's an older model and not USCG approved which I want to get. Thinking about just getting front entry to avoid that...anyone know if a Jetpilot side entry would fit the same as a front? Tons of ?s I know but I'm thinking of getting a jacket from an online store that is having good clearance deals.

I had a Jobe men's vest from Costco and after a few months, the padding in the back moved to one side and it didn't feel as snug anymore. I bought an Obrien vest off Ebay for $60 or so and thought I would fit a large but actually medim works for me. Just go by the chest sizes on the chart. I like my women's vest more than the men's one, at least this kind/style.

After countless hours at my board shop trying on vests, I finally decided to go with the Ripcurl men's vest. It fit nice and snug and wasn't bulky, and didn't sit up higher than my shoulders like a lot of the other vests did. The only thing is... the arm holes are kinda big... but oh well, I guess we can't with them all!
