| i used to be pretty good, a couple years ago i was doing back rolls, 3's, tantrums and such and doing pretty well in contests as well. I stopped back in 98 because i just wasnt having fun anymore. I want to start again, but now i live with some pretty good wakeboarders and they knew how i rode before, im just too self concious sp? that i cant get back out there, if anyone else was in the circumstance that i am in they would think that i was crazy but its just become such a mental block that i am almost terrified to get back in the water and make a fool of myself, i know its stupid but i cant get over it |

Dude its all about having fun, i'm working on my backrolls 3's and such and I'm sure I look like a complete punk, and i ride with nationally ranked riders, they think its awesome, they know how I ride and i'm sure you're buds know how you can ride and can totally understand that you'll be a little rusty after having a few seasons off, I think you're totally freakin out over nothing, they'll porbably be stoked just having you back on the water. Don't fret, just get wet. _________________ If it didn't hurt it wasn't worth tryin |

| Just remember to go out there and have fun! So what if you aren't as good as you used to be, its all about having fun. At the beginning of last summer I wasn't having too much fun because I felt like I was pressuring (sp?) myself to become better and I wasn't enjoying myself. But then I just realized that its not about how good you are, its all about just going out there and having fun and hanging out with your friends. |

CENFLA, if you're that self conscious, then you're never going to have fun.
You need to be able to laugh at yourself, if you can't then why bother. I thought this sport was for fun and having fun, to make friends and to learn from each other....just like Grace B. said.
If you can't do that, then why even try to come back?
I live in Orlando and I suck wake.....but do I care? No, because it's all about just being out there and having fun |

Hey chica!
I'm from the Florida east coast. I'm hoping to get my boat re-licensed this month so I'll be ready to go out then. I'll be coming over to board with another girl who is in one of my classes. My goal day is February 28. I have committments the other two weekends.
I was supposed to go this weekend, but I blew out my tire on Friday when I was going to register my boat and with all the things I had to do surrounding that, I burned my time up .
Let me know if that will work for you and we'll plan on it. Or we could meet at O'Town or something for a quick lesson before or after and then go out on my boat (or yours - do you have one - which would you prefer?).

hi cenfla,
you say that you stopped in 98 because it wasnt fun anymore, if you are allready thinking that you will make a fool out of yourselve, it is never gonne be fun anymore,
anyway, i think you will still do backrolls, 3's and tantrums!
i think because you allready landed them it will be easy to learn them again!
just try it, good luck
you can do it...
