when did you start wakeskating? and were you already experienced in wakeboarding (or perhaps skateboarding)? and was it useful?
Also, what kind of boat do you use?

I'd only wakeboarded 4-5 times before I started wakeskating, had skateboarded when I was younger but hadn't really touched one till for 6 or so years. I snowboard alot though and I recon this helped when learning to wakeboard and also to waksekate. Any previous boardsport would help. It'd be nice to have a wakeboard/wakeskate specific boat but I skate behind riverjet boats mainly, anything that can pull you out of the water can be skated behind - some are just better than others.

I started again in 03 at 39 yoa. I skateboarded as a kid, wakeboarded since '83. In the late 70's I cut the handle off a canoe paddle and put a small fin on the back. Some grip tape and I was off. It was slippery and hard to control, but I got it after a few times. Wish I still had it. The new stuff is much better - rocker really helps. My paddle would grab in the trough nealy every time.

Hope to compete this year on wakeskate. I will probably be the oldest rider out there. I turn 40 soon and still don't know when I will grow up.
