1.) Has anyone had experience hook accessories up to the accessory switches? I'm trying to install a marine band radio in a 03 Mobius LSV and I want to hook it up to an empty switch.
2.) I am also needing to swap my 4 pin trailer wire connector for a 5 pin trailer wire connector. I have an 02 Xterra. Anyone done this before?
Thanks guys...any help is appreciated! _________________ "Spring Yet???" |

Can't answer your questions, but I would like to know how you like your Mobius. I am thinking about getting one next month. _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

I had to run a new wire from the left reverse light to the five pin connector through the existing pigtail.
As for the boat itself, cameraboy, I bought a mobius lsv last month and it's still in the carport waiting for spring. I am soooo excited to get on the water. |

Yeah same here...got the boat, but haven't gotten it out of the garage yet. I spend plenty of time sitting behind the wheel and pretending the press buttons and wave to my adoring fans on the dock, but alas...it is still winter. _________________ "Spring Yet???" |

Ha Ha!!! I've got to use my boat...barely...I got it at the end of the summer.
The pigtail was an easy fix, toughest place was finding the correct wire on my toyota, DAMN JAPS!!
As far as the radio, I got no idea. But there are positive and negative accessory terminals under the dash on the circuit board so the wiring should be a cinch.
But you guys are gonna LOVE your boats!!!
In the meantime go ahead and change the small ballast sacs in the back to 600 pounders. And put the small ones under the front seats. _________________ "I don't understand...what is this NO WAKE zone you speak of?...and what does it mean?" |

Just out of curiousity what kinda 600 lbs bags did you put in the back? Was it just a simple unscrew the old ones and screw in the new ones, or was there any other fixes that were necessary. Thanks for all the help guys! _________________ "Spring Yet???" |

Hey...also do you have any diagrams on how you did that? Were you able to hook it all up to the existing ballast switches? How about the bags under the front seats? _________________ "Spring Yet???" |

why are you swapping the connectors? the flat 4 pin is for lights only and the round 5 pin is for lights and brakes. if your trailer is not wired for brakes then you can just get a simple converter that plugs into both the 4 pin and the 5 pin on your vehicle. they're like $5 at any auto parts store. |

I'm not sure about the single axle trailer but my tandem axle has the brakes so I had to hook up the reverse wire.
I have the pump that came with the boat. I've read that this pump takes a long time to fill the bags. What are you using to fill your bags? How long does it take? I have already considered doing that with the bags and am sure once I start using the boat I won't be able to stop myself from spending the money. |

| For your radio, ground the black wire to existing ground under dash. Add a female connecter to the red, and install it to the open connection to the switch you want to install it to, make sure it is fused or usually the switch has a breaker on it. If the radio keeps setting of the breaker you need to go to a 20 amp breaker or what is recomended. Most stock breakers that are not being used are usually 10 amp. |

| I think some of you guys have it backwards . That adaptor is if you have a 5 pin on your truck and a 4 pin on the trailer. The moombas all have trailers w/ brakes and a 5 pin on the trailer. When I got my Moomba I had to take an extra lead off the reverse lights and wire it down to a 5 pin that I swapped out for my old 4 pin. If you wire it wrong you'll know when you goto reverse. you can also just take out the 4 pin from your truck and turn it around, put on the parking lights and it will de-activate the brakes. As for the switch I ran a 12 V outlet to it for my ballast pumps. There is + and - on the panel so its no problem. I got some of the female spade type connectors and they slipped right on to the males on the panel. |

I haven't made it all automatic yet. I plan to before the sumer though.
As far connecting the ballast bags...mine is a 2002 which does not have the quick disconnect sacs, so yes they just be screwed into the automatic system hoses, super easy. But your dealer can get you some additional quick connects so the same will apply. I put in two fatboys.
I'm going to do some modifications to my ballast system....my "plans" are pretty involved. I want it to fill all 2300#'s of ballast in under 10 min. I'd hate to give tips when I haven't done mine yet. _________________ "I don't understand...what is this NO WAKE zone you speak of?...and what does it mean?" |

So I gueesing those Moomba's have something fancier than just surge drum brakes, since most of those have a self backing plate so you don't have to do anything when you back up. I'm guessing they have surge disc brakes? Also, if you have a GM truck or SUV with the trailering package, I bet they make a plug adapter that plugs right in.

I've got to say that the trailer that came with my moomba is the BEST trailer I have ever pulled , boat or otherwise. You can't even tell it's back there.
They have those fancy smancy torsion axles. And the brakes are awesome. I would almost swear my truck stops better with the boat, (that's impossible though).
Props to the people at boatmate!!! _________________ "I don't understand...what is this NO WAKE zone you speak of?...and what does it mean?" |
