|

I'll admit that it sucks that LF is gone, but we need to regroup and get on something that still has a meaning. Hyperlite went bankrupt and is the biggest and lamest wakeboarding monster company out there. No way. CWB? Connelly Wakeboards? That brand is laughable. Origin, they still in biz? Gator is interesting, but I'll see when I can see some boards.
Therefore, Double UP is the choice. Nelly is back and is designing the best rides around. I have the new Nelson 135 and it rides better than any LF board I had. I used to ride DU but when things got weird I moved to LF. Now with LF being a joke I'm now back where I should be. On a Greg Nelson designed DU.
I talked to the DU crew and they are getting a huge boost from LF falling off the charts. Look for DU to pick up alot of these out of work riders. Cobe has a new pro-model sitting around and wants DU to build it. How dope would it be that Nelly & Cobe designing boards for DU? Jimmy Who? Who is Tony? Cobe and Nelly will push DU and build the brand to replace LF.
I'm in full support of DU the brand that still cares about wakebording! |

The CWB brand is laughable?
I think it's cool that Triton Sports owns Double Up, and KD together.
CWB is the ONLY employee owned company out there, and they're still around. Hyperlite went under, and was bought by Kent a year ago. DU went down in flames, and was bought by Triton. LF, well, we all know about them. They went down, AND were owned by another company. Rockstar business practice there!
Before you go saying a brand is laughable..who cares? If the board rides to your satisfaction, buy it. I don't give a s#it if it's a Kmart pro. It's all about the love of the sport.
You're a waste of our fuk!ng time, s#it bag. |

Good call Magellan.
I dont think anyone has the right to put down any board brand. As far as I can tell they all do there best to push or promote Wakeboarding as a sport and the guys/girls that work for boarding compaines seem to work there butts off to keep all us grunts happy, so I think they deserve some respect |

Dude, Double Up makes great boards. But guess what, so does CWB. All companies make boards to fit one person or another. I think it's great, otherwise, we wouldn't have choices.
It's cool to push Double Up, bro. I do it all the time! But not at the expense of putting down other companies. That's just not cool and you will lose or not gain any credibility. _________________ my demo reel

This is copied and pasted from the LF is no. 1' post I think it applies here as well--
HL is at the top because they make great products and offer great support for those products. Guess what- if the products were not good people would stop buying, prices would go down and quality would have to go up to stay in buiseness. Its basic economics people. An item is only overpriced if people will not pay that price! As soon as people stop buying the prices will fall, gauranteed. But as long as they make quality products and treat the customers right HL will continue its success and growth. So stop whining about it, please.
I have nothing against LF or any other company in this industry. I do think the industry would be better off without all the negativity concerning the different companies
Like what you ride, Ride what you like, and let others do the same. |

when Dup adds a little more rocker to their boardsand makes some 3 stage rockers ill try some but they dont make a board IMO that fits my style like a premier/Prodigy does..Thats mY oppinion but they are using easy old molds to press basically the same boards they have been pressing since their start up.I like their stuff and the company but i wont ride Dup until they give me some more options to choose from.. _________________ "Thanks for Play'n"

| I find it pretty funny that the only company existing today that has not under gone financial difficulty is CWB, yet everyone is hammering on them. This anti-slalom company stuff is crap...Ask Grubb how well he can run a slalom course...Parks and Watkins and their show skiing ability...Tell me why all the great wakeboarders have slalom ski backgrounds? Maybe if people actually tried slalom skiing they would improve their wakeboarding. |

My bad..... but thats only one choice
id like to see the Pure ride which i think was nelsons old shape have a three stage rocker maybe 2.7 because i dont like a 4 removable fin board with no option of a center fin..They dont have their site up in full effect but from what ive seen over the last few years is Dup doesnt have what im looking for and bY HL and CWB and ,even LF for that matter, standards dont have enough choices to fit all stlyes..Dont get me wrong i like DUP but they dont have a board out yet that ineterests me.. _________________ "Thanks for Play'n"

I would ride a K-mart pro if it suited my style too, even if they were bankrupt. I don't care what name is on the bottom of my board, it doesn't make me any more of a poser or more core than the next dude....I'll still enjoy hot summer days, bikinis, and cold beverages on the lake.... _________________ www.MidwestMilitia.net |

Derrick Lenz what up. You are correct that some of the DU boards have a three stage with continuous in the middle, better pop when you're on edge but fast and smooth. Nice and soft on the landings.
The new Nelson boards are three stage rocker (give them a try).
Good luck to Obrien and LF. I wish them well, and keep riding whatever it is you like to ride! Even if you don't know her name!

CWB came so close to shutting down about a year ago - and they are squeaking along now - the only thing that will keep them going for a while are the LF/O'Brien troubles. Once those guys come back Connelly is going to be squeaking again (or squealing) _________________ Feeling a little put off by anything I've said?

| i think you should ride what fits your style.i ride a 2001 freemotion journey and i love it.yeah, its probably not a "high-end" board but then again i dont have 500 bucks to buy a fancy board.but even if i did,i still wouldnt buy one unless it met all of my boarding needs.i hate the people who are constantly bragging about how they get a new board/bindings every stinkin year, are sponsered by anyone,if theyre pro boarders or whatever else crap.i would rather idolize someone who loves wakeboarding but isnt very good then a pro who is in it for money and women. |

For the record.......Nelson himself told me that his new shape is double up's first 3-stage board. His old one was continuous. It appeared 3-stage because of the straight rail in the mid-section of the board.

Don't be a victim of corporate branding-brainwashing. What's with the commercial for Double Up in the first post? And what is the deal with hating brands that also produce skis? That makes no sense to me. I don't know if you noticed, but wakeboarding isn't as popular as we all like to pretend. It makes sense that companies that cover the whole watersports market would also make a few wakeboards. I guess that's not "hard core" enough, though.
Why should I support DU and not buy CWB products? (I'm actually asking a question here, not being a wise-ass.) _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

I'm very anxoius to try out every board that I can get my hands on. I actually LIKE trying out new boards from ALL of the companies. I could care less if they make water ski's, tubes, ect. Presently I ride a 137 Harris w/ Ultra's and love it. I have also ridden a trip and lavelle in the past, all good boards. I am going to try out the subjekt, absolute, 138 nelson, shapiro, belmont and byerly this year. If I like a board and it fits me, who cares what other lines the company makes. That's like saying don't drive a honda because they make lawn mowers or don't drive a benz because they make big shipping trucks.... _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. Dude! I ride a 137 Harris! With Mobes, no less. I LOVE that board. I love how smooth it is, I love how steep the rails are, I love how simple it is, and most of all, I love that it was less that 300 bucks.
B-rad, how much do you weigh? How tall are you? Have I already asked you this? Thinking about trying out a Prodigy 140. I love the finless harris, and I am wondering how much of a difference in feel an extra molded in fin and 3 cm would make. _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

I'm 170, 5'8", I love the Harris. It grips when you want it to, but effortlessly spins and slids. I didn't care mush for the prodigy 140 at all. It seemed to track too well for me, not near as easy to break lose. I hate when someone generalizes a company as a whole with out taking into account how different each board is. I wasn't sure I would like the harris, then I rode it and it's an amazing board. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. B-Rad, you are right, the Harris is an awesome board. It has saved my ass several times because if I don't land right I can spin it around and still ride away. With a lot of other boards, I would either faceplant or, even worse, reverse faceplant because I didn't land just perfect.
A buddy of mine rode it once, and liked it so much that he went out and bought one that week. It really improved his riding (although his old board was really, really old. I think any of the new boards would have made a difference). |

I am so with you guys about the Harris. What amazes me is that it costs so much less than other boards, and nobody (except in this string) really talks about riding it. It is like a secret weapon, or something. Everyone is like "put 'got premier' in your signature" "Oh, I ride the new Parks" and crap like that. Is it because the Harris is made by O'brien and is less costly that nobody seems to know about it? _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |
