I'm replacing my floor in my Supra. Does anyone know where I can get that styrofoam you can mix yourself, instead of the can style? I need it to pour in after I replace some stringers..Any help? Thanks..Jet _________________ Andrew"Jet"Mitchell

Ouch, you have your work cut out for you. I'd try Hannays Marine, they are in Minneapolis but they can ship it to you. They have everything else, plus if they dont have it they will know who does.

Is there a problem with using spray foam? I just finished replacing the floor in my '92 Malibu. We used spray foam where ever replacing foam was required. Once it expanded and was dry (cured?), we used a hand saw to cut the excess. _________________ SLIP IT ON AND RIDE IT! |

Nothing wrong with using spray foam, other than that it takes a lot longer than mixing up som AB in a 5 gallon bucket and pooring it in.
Cutting off the excess was a mistake though. The foam you are using is closed cell, which means it forms individual little bubbles. It's that quality that makes it great for use in a boat because it won't absorb water. Think of a sponge when you throw in some water. You can see the openings all over the sponge, and that's why water soaks in. You don't want that happening in your boat. Don't worry though, you didn't jeopardize much of the foam, and with the floor in place water shouldn't be in that area anyway. |
