My Prostar does not have a depth finder, and I am looking to get one. I don't fish or dive, so I don't need one w/ the full screen, just something to get the job done, under 75$, and easy to install.
Any suggestions? _________________ I have gone to great lengths to expand my threshold for pain. |

The cheapest one I have EVER seen was $99...
That was one by uniden, and I have heard bad things about it. Try Ski Limited or boater's world.
Try to get a through hull transducer, those will be around $150. Some guys just epoxy the transom mounted tranducer (that comes with the $99 one) to the hull. And it works for the most part. But I would spend a few bucks, to protect my boat... _________________ "I don't understand...what is this NO WAKE zone you speak of?...and what does it mean?" |

My depth finder doesn't always work... I think it has to do with where it's mounted. Any ideas? _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

Make sure it's far enough back that it isn't reading through dirty water, or worse picking up air when you go over wakes. Somewhere even with or behind the fresh water intake for the engine is a sure free place.
What happens when it fails? |

| There are a bunch of different ones on Ebay for pretty cheap. I have one built in now that is just a number and while thats a lot better than nothing I'm putting in a full fishfinder type b4 the season starts. I got a humminbird and it has the thru hull for 99 |
