| If you own a x-9 please let me know if you have had any problems with it and how good is the wake on it compared to an x-star.

| Save yourself some trouble. There are MUCH better boats to pick from, both in and out of the Mastercraft line. The X-9 is designed to be more of a crossover boat, but it fails at that. Instead of being not great at anything and pretty good at everything it's not great at anything, and not very good at anything either.

| I have heard the exact opposite, but if you have a choice go with the X-Star. You will have to weigh the X-9 with a lot of ballast.

Yeah, I have actually heard really good things about the X9, I used to work with a guy who had one, and knew a lot of people who rode with him and I heard nothing but good things.

I have a X9 and love it. If all you are going to do is wakeboard and have a few buddies along the X-Star is the way to go. The only reason I bought the X9 is it's size. It's allot wider then the X-Star and I have lots of people when I go out so it's good for what I do. Other then being a little bit wider, the wake is pretty much the same.

| That guy is smoking crack. The X-9 is a great boat. Lots or room and a nice wake.

I am a former X-9 owner with about 120 hours in and behind the boat. It's a great all around boat, but the not best wakeboard boat. I ran mine with stock ballast, 400 lbs. of lead, and two 250 lb. side sacks. 1800 lbs. total.
Positives:
It's a MasterCraft, it's big, it's very stylish, best jump seat of any boat, lots of storage with stock ballast, great stock stereo.
Negatives:
Wide rampy wake, requires LOTS of ballast to weight properly, extra ballast bags eat up floor and storage space, rear bag pushes up seat when full.
If you ALWAYS ride with 6-8 adults, add 500 - 1,000 lbs of lead, and enjoy!
If the X-9 were available in a V-Drive, I'd have bought another one. All that extra water ballast would be hidden. The X-Star is too small, and the 210 is a bit too expensive. My VLX is due in March.

skicrave, Is right on fellas! I seriously considered this boat and test drove the hell out of it. You will have load it out the butt to get a good (not great) wake. I went to the factory followed them all down the line and talked to everyone about it. Great looking boat with nice fit n finish! They were going to throw in the customized MC floorsac for me, but it still had a crappy wake for the money.

the x-star is too small, it holds 6 people comfortably, how many people do you take, I am not looking for a family boat just a wakeboard boat guys, don't care if mom and them come along, don't really care if I have to put in extra sacs or lead weight, what kind of wake does the x-9 throw compared to the x-star, I don't care about you malibu owners, I don't want another malibu the wake sucks on them, but that is another story,

The X9 throws a great wake when properly weighted. I run mine with 2200lbs and the wake is big and firm. I have 600lbs of lead, the stock ballast and I re-inforced my rear locker to hold a 500lb sack in it.
If you want a good size boat that throws a great wake don't be afraid to get the X9.
If you never ski and only board I would suggest getting a V drive.

| I have a 02 Launch SSV but as for the X-9 just watch the Movie Free4all from Bump films. Parks is riding behind an X-9 the whole movie.

We used an X-9 as a chase boat in San Vicente, CA. The shots you see of the riders (Parks) in the X-9 were while we were chilin... He as well as the others rode behind an XStar while we were in San Vicente. As far as the footage from Park's house... that's his X-star.
Hope this helps.

If you're really serious, demo both boats with the amount of ballast you expect to ride with and decide for yourself.
The X-Star and X-9 are both great boats with virtually identical running gear. The differences are those you can see, not those you can't.
For what it's worth, a number of X-9 owners, including myself, have recently made the switch to "flagship" wakeboard boats.
