Used Boat Lifts?

Anyone know of where I could get some info on used lifts. I need a 3500# plus lift and I am located in Michigan. Any info is helpful. Thanks.

What kind of lift info are you looking for? Are you actually looking to buy a lift?

I built my lift last year so I might be able to help a little, but I'm still tweaking it a little so I could use some info too.

Yeah, I want to buy a lift. Shopping around and finding that these things are f'n expensive. Definitely going the used route. Much less expensive. How difficult is it to "build" a lift? Doesn't seem easy, and sounds like it could take some time. Do you have plans?

get a shorestation! you can find a used one for around 1500 bucks probably. i would check shorestations website for some dealers in your area. they might have some used lifts. aslo check the newspapers and any marinas in your area. shorestation makes great lifts that will provide years of trouble free use.

I agree, Shorestations are great. My neighbor has patented a design for attaching a motor/gearbox to manual lift shorestations and has a contract with Shorestation. Let me know if you're interested in this and I'll pass your name on to him.

My only bad experience with S.S.'s is the roof....they seem to shrink over time and are a real pain to put on and take off every year. Mine has a permanent roof that should last 10 years or more without maint.

Jeff, are you wanting pics of the motor/gearbox for the shorestations that I mentioned? I don't have any, but I'm sure I could easily get some if you want.

I was wanting to see what the lift itself looked like but I found some on Shore Station's website. It's a nice setup.

yeah, you can see shorestations just about anywhere you go. Very popular.

No matter what you get, get an aluminum one. The old steel ones take to many people to move and most of them have a short life. I install Hewitt Lifts in Ohio(but own a Shore Station), and we are always having to cut up the old steel ones just to get ride of them.

Once you have it in, why would you need to move it? I don't ever plan on moving my steel lift. I just think the shorestations/etc. all look the same. I wanted something to match my house a little bit. Something that would require little seasonal maintenance and something that looked a little different than everyone else's lift on the lake. Mine can also double as a sundeck on top.

Not trying to put down shorestations, they are good value, just not my cuppa tea I guess.
