What is a water temp. that is actually O.K. to ride in? I'm looking for those of you who do NOT use wet suits and only go when you don't want to freeze your jimmy. This is my first winter to be jonesin to go ride.

What is the water temp right now at the Perd. and Lake Travis? When does it get to the temp you posted?

Travis: Water clear; 55 degrees; From:

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/cgi-bin/fishrept.pl?curr#TAWAKONI

Dont know why that says tawakoni goesto the home page.

I'm a puss about the cold so with no wetsuit I'd have to wait till its in the 70's which here in dallas is May sometime.

Don't know about temp, but it sure is nice to see Lake Austin full again. Can't wait to get out for the early morning, before work, glass rides in front of Hula Hut. My days always seem to go better after that.

Water looks good from 360 bridge, but still has about 5-6' to go before it's full. Probably full by tonight or tomorrow.

Dees - I am a puss boarder. I ain't gettin in until the sun comes out! Besides, the lake has been lowered something like 12-15' since Dec to kill all the hydrilla and I think there is a boating ban during the low water period.

I'm a wus too, see dees, peeps in down here aren't used to the cold....when it hits the 30s we stay indoors, build fires and complain constantly, I can't handle it if the air temp is not at least 70, bright sunny days! my feet, face and hands can't take it.......
