Anyone ever wake surf behind an outboard? Would it even be possible? And would it probably be the stupidest idea ever? Wondering about the safty aspect. At least you wouldn't have to worry as much about the exhaust fumes since they are coming out the prop under water. But anyway, I was just curious. Later

you could do it but it might not be as good as behind a decent boat

I definitely wouldn't recommend it - one accident and someone could end up killed very easily. We surf behind my boat (Tige 20v) and it's not unusual to have the board touch the swimstep. Probably not likely that you would end up falling and hitting the prop but I look at it as not worth the risk.

You need a pretty good wake, and behind an outboard or an I/O I wouldn't do it...thats asking for trouble

You would have to be nuts to do that behind an outboard.

Its been said already, but you're going to need the right boat. Its going to have to be pretty big.

Now im not saying you should do this, but - I've wakesurfed and i've seen a lot of other people wakesurf. Always behind inboards. No one has ever even come close to hitting the platform, which i would imagine is the same area as the prop.

If it were me, i would carefully evaluate the situation and make the safe choice.

that would be a pretty brutal death, causeu would fall see the 4 swirling blades come closer and closer to ur face and all the sudden ka-pwath ur done and ur body stays floating with the vest as ur head sinks to the bottom of the river or lake, then ur friends gota jump in and flip u over only to see no head and they start puking then the cops show up and the news with the cameras and yeah, so you shouldnt do that.
