tige 22v VS. MB sports B52v

has anyone RIDDEN behind either the tige 22v or the b52v? if so, how would you compare the wakes? i have an opportunity to get either boat 2003 model for cheap and all i need to decide on is which wake is better. Both boats will probably put out a nice and big wake, but shape is what i am most concerned with.

I rode the Tige 22v at the U.S Open. It has the best wake that I have ever riden on. It is very big, hard, steep, and wide. With every trick that I threw, I felt like I had at least an extra three feet to drop before I landed.
I definitely recommend the 22v, but I have never riden behind the B52v.

Someone else mentioned these same 2 boats not too long ago. I think the majority of people that have ridden behind the tige were on the old hull. The 2k3 model has a new convex hull and a ballast in it. keep that in mind when listening to the reviews.

i can't talk for the tige, but i can tell you that the b52 wake is huge with the ballast full, it is very rampy and stays clean all the way back to 85-90 feet behind the boat, it seems that with only a few people in the boat the wake gets jumbo with stock tanks only half full......even bigger when filled more, the shape of the wake is smooth gradual tranny with a good solid lip at the top, if you get the vx2 w/ front ballast it adds more lip (or a sack up front on the non vx2) I have ridden behind the tige but from what i hear it is the old hull so i do not know about the current set up....i do know that mb boats are built one at a time and limited to around 300 per year, that means a little more attention to detail can be paid to the manufacturing process and a little less detail going towards advertising, free boats, etc. ...also, the mb graphics are all in the gell coat and are all slightly unique....less chance of parking yours right next to one just like it !!!

I have 2002 B52v - The boat is built extremely well. It feels solid and very comfortable. There is loads of room for all your gear and buddies. - The wake is nice - Get's pretty large with the stock ballast full but you would definatley need some weight in the bow (without the front ballast). The rise on take off with the ballast full and the engine in the back make for an unhappy bow...! As for shape, it has a nice ramp with a steady transistion. There is plenty of room in the boat to add more weight if you wanted too. I can't speak for the VX2.. I've yet to test one out.
Can't speak for the Tige, from what I've seen/read and heard the 03 should be bitchin, they're supposed to be putting in hard tanks and the warranty takes away the worries about the boat having wood. Hope this helps a little. Cool

I think both boats are looking really good in 2k3. It is really up to you to determine what company is going to better satisify your needs. Look closely at the finish details like edges inside the comparments and storage space.

Good point Nor Cal, the fit and finish of the fine edges is one of the reasons I choose my Bu VLX. Reach where you are not supposed to and then you can get a good idea who builds a more finished boat. Reaching under some things in some boats (I don't want to mention any names- I'll leave it up to you) you find unloomed wires or frayed carpets I even felt bare screws in some. Some are very "unfinished." So go ahead, pull things you are no supposed to, reach under things, try to bend things, that is what the demos are for aren't they?

you asked for info on wake shape and we all answered with fit and finish and blah,blah,blah

the good news is it sounds like both wakes are sick!

i just took out the b52 today..........amazing wake!!!!!!! i do think it needs the extra 500 lbs in the front though, not only to clean up the wake but to help keep the nose down for the driver and also the two speed tranny to get it out. Can anyone compare the wakes of the regular b52 and the b52 VX2??????
