Just heard from a reliable source very close to the GATOR BOARD camp that Gator is trying to buy the LF board molds. GB looks like the company of the future.

yeah but you would also have to own a factory to make the boards. Gator does, LF doesn't, & OB used to. Twisted Evil

I'm happy for Gator if he thinks he can make it. A few core shops carrying your brand doesn't cut it in this industry. Look at LF.
I hate to say it, but combo skis, tubes, and kneeboards are the bread and butter for the wakeboard companies that make it.

I disagree. You can't just think about sales in the states. Gator has been slowley building up steam. The line is very large over seas and GB was planning on making a huge splash this year in the US even before all this news surfaced. Look for boards showing up in shops over the next few months as well as the GB bus making a stop near your home town soon. Owning your own factory helps too.

Yeah I actually still have that board in my garage. It has a purple top sheet with black griptape ripped all over the top of it.

LF doesn't own molds.
I'm all for Gator. I work for a wakeboard company, and believe me it is an incredibly tough monster to keep fed. We always joke that the quickest way to become bankrupt, is to start a wakeboard company.
He will need good reps, with present relations with dealers to make it fly.

I have heard from a reliable source that sportstuff is in the process of taking over LF. Everyone is so ridiculous! Stop speculating and wait and see what happens. I do know this though, after 1 week of being shut down, it is going to be extremely hard to convince dealers that you can make it. Everyday that goes by is unrepairable damage!

Hey John Lucero, nice to meet you, believe it or not i still have your 1st board I think w/ shmitt stix, the one w/ the beast still behind the bars. Is the Gator boards owner the same Gator that used to tear it up w/ Vision? Do you rip on a wake board like you did a skateboard?

NO, the Gator that was on the vision team is presently in jail for the rape and murder of his girlfriends best friend. It happened some years ago, I can't remember the date though. I'm sure you could find out about it on the web. The GB company is from Gator Lutgert (sp?) who used to be on the wake tech team and has been around the sport since the start.

Dude Gator is not going to but the LF molds. If he is I would know since we build their boards. They DON'T OWN they're own factory. You can't even buy there new stuff yet.

Nobody knows what is going to happen to LF or Obrien. Only time will tell who will survive. In the meantime support the brands that are still surviving...we can't afford to loose another company.
