Fishermen

Hey guys, Do fishermen are your local lakes hate you too? They hate us. We had one guy drive by us and take down our numbers and report us because we were wakeboarding by them. I guess they just get pissed off because our boat makes too big of a wave.

the only lake i ride on with fishermen is alan henry and they stay on their side of the lake and we stay on ours.

We try to give them room. Nobody has ever shown us any problems. I've gotten into more with skiers and tubers.

fishermen hate me because i am the only 6 am wakeboarder. after my set i go back to bed, just had to catch the calm water, but they get pretty pissed. I normally try to avoid them though just out of common courtesy

I ride on Lake Dardanelle and this lake is well know as a tournament bass lake. That being said I have never been flipped off by a bass fisherman though we have received some unfavorable looks. We are pretty curtious though and try not to get to close to them and we always talk to them at the boat ramps.
Jet skiers are a different story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when we tube, my dad usually pulls us really close and we spray them.. its sweet!!!!!!

It seems that they hate us more, in the winter out here. In the summer, I don't really see as many of them around. Or, maybe I just dont pay as much attention in the summer...I don't know???
-I see more pissed fishermen at the Delta than on any of the lakes I ride occasionally.-

we are lucky if they just flip us off. the fishermen on our lake hate us! we have had fishermen cast their lines at us and throw things at us. one even anchored themselves right at the end of a kicker. we asked them to move and showed them the posted signs and they must have been thinking as long as they were there we couldn't hit it so...one of the guys i ride with did and launched over their heads. his board just missed the end of their boat. (yeah i know...stupid, but these guys totally deserved it. they were just there to cause problems and make us mad because we had been riding on the otherwise calm lake at 6 that morning.) they never tried it again but it hasn't stopped them from getting pissed and harassing us.
it is hard when the lake is small and there are a lot of fishermen who want the same water you.

only small dings in my gelcoat from trying to cast under my dock. i got even by sinking a bunch of trees and bushes where they cast. i can tell when they will get a snag so i go out just before with a big smile that lets them know i did it.

otis, thats really funny, because a lot of peeps who fish sink christmas trees, shrubs in their spot, this attracts fish....fish like cover....please save yourself the embarrassment and just keep this to yourself....I mean this in a nice way.... Wink

there's fisherman on this public dock right where we ride and usaully the water is calmest right next to the peer. we go so close that i've touched it when i was riding and the fisherman get so pissed. we've got the finger a few and my dad has had some words with them and me and my friends have to!!!!!!!!!!

We board back in a local ski club slu where there a ski jump, kicker, and 2 sliders along with slalom course so the fishermen know its for ski. Well we couldn't find any good water so we headed up the lake to the ski slu and started riding and like 15 minutes later this fishermen started coming straight down the middle right at us he never stoped and my dad had to stop. He started cussing and gave us the bird like we were donig something wrong. Another time we took our boat to a party and instead of trying to teach 10 people to board (i hate to say this) we pulled out the tubes. We were pulling people and then this 300 lbs. man on a 3 seater sea-doo started trying to jump the wake like 25 feet right be hinde the tubes. well when the people on the tube got slung and fell off they werent in the way of the sea-doo so my dad whips the boat around and scares the guy to death. he got all mad at use saying he was here first and that he wasn't doing anything wrong so we called him stupid and keep on riding but he didn't bother us anymore.

on da river theres alotta small brookes or streams or wutever u wanna call em that break off from the sides so most of the fishermen r back in there. we dont bother them too bad i guess...but jet skiers, now thats a diff story

Flipping the coin over - I've had boarders mess with me whilst fishing. I don't get mad. I just wait until I'm done fishing and then run donuts around the impolite boarders until the go away.
