is the new centurion enzo really as good as it is talked up to be? i was just wondering because their are always new boats coming out claiming to be better then the others... from what i gather the best boats on the market, regardless of price are the:
SAN, tige 22v riders, malibu lsv, mastercraft x star....
correct me if i'm wrong on those... but also if this is the case would the enzo be rated up there?

i would agree that those boats are the best besides the Malibu LSV. I think that the Malibu VLX is much better for pure wakeboarding. the LSV wake in my opinion isn't as good as the VLX. For the Enzo it has alot of great features for wakesurfing but besides that i don't know that much about it for wakeboarding.

Best boat ??
Depends on what you intend to do with her .. We love inboard boats .. either direct drive or v-drive .. and .. until the recent design changes geared towards wake boarders and larger wakes, the inboard boats had little to offer as far as soft ride family cruising in rough water conditions .. Now though, with the advent of deeper v'd hulls, the ride is being improved .. The Enzo and Avalanche have a 20 degree deadrise at the transom .. duh .. deeper v equals softer ride .. The new 2004 model Moomba XLV has a slight improvement in their transom deadrise over their previous models providing a somewhat softer ride, however they could still improve that transom deadrise in my opinion .. but I think they are more concerned with shorter plane distance and fewer seconds to get there than they are about the softer ride in rough water .. ( after all .. their main market is younger folks who are not as concerned about soft ride ) .. We cruise our young grandchildren around while their parents play with their wakeboard toys and sky skis in their own boats .. so what is important to us is much less important to most wake boarders .. however .. we still prefer the v-drive boats over the usual old geezer stern drive models that are very good rough water boats .. As for the best boat question ?? There again it may depend on one's pocket book .. Yes .. you may get a bit better looking upholstery in a MC or BU .. but spending 15 K or more for that makes no sense to me .. Currently .. the Moomba XLV offers the best big boat for the money ( my opinion ) .. The Centurion 23 ft Typhoon or 22 ft Avalanche I believe would be next in line .. and when Centurion gets their interiors up to snuff .. then they will be hard to beat, due to their sweet riding hulls .. Just one old geezer's opinion ..
Happy Holidays ..

| I think the boat is still too new for honest results. Since it just came out, wait a year and hear what people have to say about it.

my opinion is it kinda depends on what you want, i Just picked up my Enzo 2 weeks ago its rad, it is a little different style wise than most kinda new age. i got every option offered by centurion with the exception of their stereo, tower and i equipped it with the 6.2 black scorpion instead of the 8.1, i also got the New VM trailer all loaded up which is very nice compared to other vm's i've used.
Where i ride it is very common to cross a large body of rough water to find any good water so for me the ride of centurion is key, i often take out parts of my large family, even my elderly grandparents and even at high speeds they are still compfortable. so for me the centurion is the best just cause it combines the best of all my needs:
Rough Water Handling
BIG WAKE both wakeboard and surf
Good handling for a BIG boat
Lots of room and TONS of storage,
best quality construction with the exception of the vinyl and dash
i think if centurion had a malibu interior they would probly be one of the best boats out.
We'll see how the Enzo does this season, so far it only has 2 hours and i love it, i am doin alot of trick stuff to it too so it should be cool when its all done. if anyone is interested i should be able to have some pics available soon,
BTW the new 04 LSV is now equipped with the same hull as the 21 now so if you like a 21 you will like the 23 even better, almost the same wake with a ton more space.

DUDE!! I have no idea why they wont step the vinyl and dash way up, im not sure if they want to stay a notch below BU and Tique moneywise and cover a little lower market or what, BELIEVE me i have had the vinyl convo with all the big wigs at centurion and i guess there just not there yet mentally, they did improve it quite a bit over last years but its still not as good as malibu.
Ill get some pics eventually right now the boat is at Boss Acc getting some minor tweaking done:
Custom Custom Swoop
Pioneer 9500 Deck
12 disc changer
6-B70 6.5in spkrs
6 MBQ interior spkrs
Knight rider 4 Light Bar
4 hi-intensity Lights
4 warp board racks
4 PG 75by4 amps
1 PG 1200.1
1 PG 15in DVC
Auto Flag
!BIG! Bimini
Oh yea and i Got the BIG sideswipe exhaust.
the way it sat without the tower, acc and stereo would be about 54k retail, thats completely loaded with the upgraded motor and the trailer has a bunch of options too..

A loaded up ENZO 23 footer will be about 55K - 60 K or so .. a rad loaded up Moomba XLV 23 footer will be 45 K or so .. every one has choices and thank goodness for that in the good old USA .. some may want to spend 70 K for a MC and good for them .. others may want to spend less and go another route and good for them too .. that is why we have Lexus and Chevrolet .. can ya dig it man .. have a good one ..

nwrider1,
In your post, you said your boat was at Boss Acc. getting some stuff done to it. One thing you said you were getting was a custom swoop tower. I though they couldn't sell towers any more? I have one of their custom swoop towers myself, but I got it before the whole correct craft patent thing took place. I was just wondering how you are getting the tower because I love mine and wouldn't mind getting another one at a later date if I got a new boat.

Yeah the more I look at the new look of the Enzo the more I like it!
That boat is at my dealer http://www.clarkboat.com might be a bit of drive from Vancouver unfortunally it is a foot to long for my lake

| are you only allowed boats of certain lengths in your lake?! i've never heard of anything like that! personally i would still rather a tige, mastercraft or malibu over the enzo, sorry centurion's reputation has let them down

Yeah we have several lakes with similar rules.
My experience with Centurion has been great.
Plus I have 10 K or more in my pocket

Bayliner MY ASS! come out on my Enzo you will have a different opinion.
Boss is having their towers made by someone else but its still the same tower.
a loaded enzo is 56k with everything, the XLV is awesome but less boat than an enzo, narrower lower and not as deep V NO I.C.S., don't get me wrong its still great, and its 10k cheaper than an Enzo but the Enzo is 10k cheaper than a 23VLX so its just a step ladder,
whats with the length rules on your lake? where are you what are the restrictions?

I've seen an Enzo up close....bad to the bone! I'm still waiting to ride behind it though.
We have length restrictions on our lake, too. Have to be less then 21'6" from nose to stern, including swim platform. But if the platform is removable, it doesn't count towards the measurement.

We will be running the Enzo as one of our demo's this year. I will let you know when it is in the water and you will have to come take a set behind it.

| Half of Centurions line uses names from auto makers, Avalanche, Escalade, Enzo, Eclipse, etc. It must not be a big deal. I don't think they had a deal like Malibu and Corvette, that was an exclusive partnership that GM and Malibu worked out, not just a right to use the name.
