I had found a terrific deal on an 80s Supra boat for a friend that was in A++++ shape. My friends dad was going to buy it but it sold before he had the chance. Anyways I have heard that some of the older Supra boats throw a great wakeboarding wake and I would like to know what models and years where these boats made? Thanks for the help!! Man I think it was a killer deal!! CRAP!!!!
In case your interested it was like an 89(I think) wth a 96 trailer. Fabulous condition, with like 400 hours. like 5-6g. I can't remember the model name but it was pretty big for being a closed bow. |

we need to know the model.
about the wakes on those old models, i can only give you some input on the 23f saltare.the wake can be good although it keeps steep no matter how much wieght you throw in up front. _________________ Waterskischool RiverSide |

1980/1992-supra mariah-saltare-pirata-compts6m-bravura-marauder-conbrio-sunsport.
the comp doesn,t have a nice wake the rest is steep, descent but nothing special.
i,ve been behind the comp bravura pirata saltare.
mariah and sunsport are owned by some friends of mine and they told me about their wakes...but hey for 5/6k any descent wake will do.
In case you are going to buy the saltare have a good and i mean very good look at the stringers/motormounts and the entire floor these are made from wood.
A floor repair job isn,t that difficult but alot of work.
good luck. _________________ Waterskischool RiverSide |

I've got a 1990 conbrio. Check out the wake talk in the post "Less expensive boat w/ good wake. Those guys say if you weight it right the older supra's throw a decent wake. There's a picture of mine in there. Check it out. _________________

| my buddie had a 1986 i believe maruader, it was a huge closed bow ski boat. he bought it becasue it too was in great shape for the price, and he sold it two months later becasue the wake was so bad. we called the boat the "super cork" because no matter how much weight it didnt change much, we added weight untill it couldnt pull it self out of the water quick enough. not bashing these boats, but we both did not like the wake at all, but it was a great boat. |

riverside, What is your opinion of the conbrio's wake? I was underweighted last season (because I'm pretty new to riding). This season I will have 1000-1200lbs of ballast. Hopefully it will make the wake much bigger. Last year I only had 500lbs. _________________

CHiLi DaWg,
i,m sorry i don,t know this boat"hull".
but you already have this boat so i would try adding some extra wieght.
if it has a wakeplate turn it up a view degrees...bring friends you can move them arround front back etc etc.
make the best of it...good luck. _________________ Waterskischool RiverSide |

| I have a 91 Supra Sunsport and will be glad to help where I can. I started boarding this past year so am not a wake expert. From research it appears that this model Sunsport has a similar hull to the Supra Launch. Let me know if you want any particulars other than the wake. I will be adding weight this summer so could forward some pictures at that time. |

I own an 89 comp and yeah, the wake isn't the best. Bascially, its just not there, even with 900 # in the boat. But...that was how the boat was designed, as a slalom boat, not a wakeboarding boat.
On the other hand, the boat was free, so who can argue with that? And at least I get to ride. _________________ 1989 Supra Comp TS6M, 06 GLI for haulin'.
