On Feb. 8th - Feb. 16th the new X-Star will be at Cobo hall in Detroit Michigan for the boat show. It will be in the WaterSports Marine booth. We also have the new MS 280. Both look really good. So if you want to see either of these boats come on down to the show

BoardC3,

Where is that show this weekend? I'm thinkin about making the trip from Rochester. Is there a website that shows who's going to be there? I've searched the net and found nothing.

Thanks

Is it the proto type or is it the real deal? If it is the real deal what's the difference between it and the prototype?

I believe it was a prototype. There was a sign on the side of the boat that said it was a pre-production model and that there were a limited number available for customers this season.

It is a prototype boat. The only difference is that the dash pod will look like the pod on the 280. The wont wont just sit in the air like the one in the show the dash like come up half way on the pod. Other than that there wont be much more that will be different. Maybe just a few little things but nothing big.

The hull on the new x-star looks like it took a lot of time to develop. I don't really like the look of the boat on the outside, but I do like the storage, and by the looks of the hull I would say that the boat probably throws a fat wake.

I was talking to Derek Grasman the other day and he said that he and Parks, and Zane had a new X-star down in Florida, not a prototype. They said that the wake on that thing was HUGE. With just the factory ballast, they honestly said the wake was the size of a weighted double-up on last year's X-star. Parks was throwing tricks off the wake that he used to only throw off the D-up. This is going to take Wakeboarding to a whole new level. The huge step-down design is what gives it such a huge wake. All the money put into the R&D of the new hull should definitely pay off. I can't wait to ride behind it myself.
BTW, the new Maristar 280, WTF is that? that thing is huge, f'n enormous!
Later...

They haven't started to make the ones for dealers to sell. They have made prototypes and are still trying to perfect the hull

It probably did take them a long time to steal the blueprints from Cobalt.

I was told at the boat show that they are starting to produce for customers. The dealer told me that I could order one that night and get it sometime this season. This dealer was only going to get 4 and they already had 2 sold. The problem is by the time you put everything in the boat that you need you are close to 70,000.00 and there is no way in h that I would spend that n a Wakeboarding boat. I would be curious to find out how many of these boats that theyy sell at that price. I think that a guy on my lake may be purchasing one so I can't wait to ride behind it.

I think it's a bad ass boat as well. You have to admit, it sure looks like that Cobalt from last year.
I'm sure the hull is different though.

It is impressive, but with that big of a tower they need more speakers or bigger ones to say the least...who makes mastercrafts speakers?
