I got the video today. Its a sick video with rad riders. But I could not believe my ears when i heard the soundtrack. Ace of base?? Come on! There was not one good song on the video. I think the a soundtrack to a video is very important. These guys could have put in some slayer or some good fast punk rock or smooth hip hop into the video instead of crap music. I just turned it on mute and put on a Black Flag cd and the feel to the video was so much better. I hope next time these guys think about the music cuz music has a lot to do with riding and the music had no feel in this video or went with the riding. Otherwise it was a sick video! Keep rockn!

If you're hearing Ace of Base (Drew's section) then you're listening to the alternative soundtrack. It was done as a joke. Try out the regular soundtrack; it's much better.

And yes, Sfumato is sick.

Dude it doesnt matter what soundtrack it is. Its horrible. And if its a joke its not funny to put some gay ass music like that in a rad video. Just leave it at that.

I personally enjoyed the soundtrack, because it was different. Everyone's always using heavy metal, hip hop *cough*Bump Films*cough* or rock.

Sfumato broke away from the norm not just with riding footage, but the entire video, music included. What YOU want is "the safety net of video music." That will always be there cause I don't see Sidewayz and Bump Films dropping out anytime soon. This is Cassette's team video, expressing it with their riding and the music they probably listen too.

And how can you complain about an alternate soundtrack? It's a BONUS.

Actually I thought the joke was pretty funny, and there were a number of other people who thought it was funny (Just go to wakeskating.com forums). These kind of jokes are, as the writers of Family guy say, "1 Percenters." Though many people may not get half the jokes in Family Guy or any other show/film, the people who do get it will think it's hilarious.

Don't complain about a bonus; if they took it out, the dvd will just be the same for a lot of people, but for the people who do get the joke, they will be a little less satifised.

I love the alt soundtrack. Im a 1 percenter. If you don't like it, its real simple, don't listen to it. Why come here and cry about it? When you make a vid you can put swollen members and goldfinger on every section to make all the sheep happy. Props to Cassette and RAD.

I thought the soundrack complimented the video nicely. It was nice to see a change and I thought they did an amazing job picking it.

Although hip hop has its place in synchronizing wake moves to the beats, I think its funny when you hear a tough song in a vid. It just doesn't seem to belong.

Same goes with punk. Pop punk maybe but real punk like Black Flag as you say, just doesn't fit. Keep that stuff for more gnarly sports like skateboarding.

This is all just my opinion of course.

In response to kyle's post, afterbang was dope and it definitely had the soundtrack of the year, as far as snow vids are concerned. I downloaded the soundtrack at the end of the season, but I bought most of the music for sfumato. Anyway, I'm hoping to get lame for christmas, but I watched it at the shop and they had a postal service song on there. I'm sure it won't disappoint. Those videos are so dope because they aren't serious--they'll have big tricks, but then they have the guys goofing around, some of which takes a lot of board control. Do you snowboard?

Oh yeah, sfumato was THE wake vid of the year, whether it be wakeboarding or wakeskating. Everything else was a disappointment for me...

lame was so good, better than afterbang (just b/c of how recent it is). yea i really enjoy watching those vids b/c of the crew's attitude throughout the whole thing: laid back, having a good time. you'll like lame's soundtrack as well. i've been snowboarding a few times, but that was like 3 years ago.

Yeah, I can hardly wait. Lame was definitely a "must have" for this season after seeing afterbang. One other thing that's cool about robot food is their packaging--last year they had the cardboard case and this year they have those nice tins. I just think that's cool. That's too bad you can's snowboard...originally I was going to go to school in tampa this past fall, but after I f-ed up my knee that dream was done. It actually turned out for the best because the whole time I was kind of stressing because I wouldn't be able to snowboard (because I'd be in florida). And after that my local shop asked me to be on their team and they made me their electric rider. Now I can't decide if I'm going to snowboard after I'm done with school, or try to wakeskate. But I digress....

This weekend a few members of the ride snowboard team will be at my hill doing a demo--erik leines and ali goulet will definitely be there, and mikey leblanc might show up. It'll be dope...

Sfumato is one of the best wake videos ever. We watched it with the atl. sountrack a few days ago and at the same time that I was laughing my ass off at the music I was in awe of the riding. One thing I really liked about that flick was the lines that were shown, something the "other" film makers should take note of. Especially hamsons part, INSANE. It would be nice to see other videos take this aproach rather then try to shove a million one shots down your throat. If anyone remembers Jeremy Wray's opening in second hand smoke, then you'll understand where I'm coming from. When you link a line like that, that's real talent, Switch frontside flip.....what

I've never seen RAD, do you think you could list the song(s) that were from that movie that are in the soundtrack? I could pick out most of the songs, but like I said, RAD is not a move I've seen. But I do like gleaming the cube (heh) but their soundtrack sucked, except for this: "Gleam, woah, gleaming the cube. Going higher and faster than anyone's ever been before....." Seriously, it's cheesy, but I like that move. I first saw it when I was ten, and in retrospect, most of the stuff in that movie was over my head. They said things like "communist sympathizer" and other odd profanities that actually went right over my head.

electric snow. download rad on kazaa... i wouldnt normally reccomend someone do that but its next to impossible to find anywhere else.
break the ice, send be an angel, and thunder in your heart are all off of the soundtrack as well as a lot of other gem 80s songs...

410media, thanks for the help and advice. I took a peek on ebay and there are a few copies of RAD floating around, so I'll probably just pick one up in the near future. It looks like it deals with some pretty heavy subject matter; ride against bart conner, the best bmxer in the world, or take your college entrance exams. What's worse is this is the first time the main character had to make a decision on his own....HEAVY:D

And just to go back to the robotfood movies, I liked afterbang better than LAME. The music was a bit better, just because it was stuff I had never been introduced to before and that made the movie fun for me. But lame still has some incredible footage, so it's still sick.
