I think it would be awesome if hyperlite could buy LF, and combine products or whatever. Think this would ever happen? _________________ GOT NAUTIQUE? |

| i dunno if it would ever happen but i wouldnt want it to. hyperlite is already the biggest wakeboard company and i would like for them to have some competition. im not sayin the other board companies arent competition but if hyperlite controlled that much more of the mraket it would make it harder on the other companies. also i think the more equal the companies the harder they will push to be better than the others. |

i would hate that. no offence ortech, but then wakeboarding would become a fricking monopoly. it would be like microsoft and all the computer world. i think that would be bad for wakeboarding b/c then the smaller companies would get bought out and they'd get no exposure. cwb would be next to go bankrupt and then wakeboarding would be all hyperlite. we need to cheer for LF and obrien for the good of wakeboarding. _________________ "stupidity will kill you!"

| I think that would be horrible. The competition in the wakeboard industry would be done. Those are the top 2 companies and no one else can compete |

| I don't think Hyperlite can buy anyone right now....considering they have investors of thier own at the time being. LF will be finding thier own investors, I have a feeling! |

No then CWB could combine efforts with Dup/BS and make a second big company..Come on Guys CWB is coming up and through all this hardly anybody is mentioning this..CWB would have eventually took over second spot anyway. They have a big time team now and great products... _________________ "Thanks for Play'n"

CWB's team is definately getting better. I would be better if they got some more hard core freeriders, just to give a more overall image.
But the funny thing is, is that a while ago I was told by some people who know these sort of things is that Hyperlite was trying to get their fingers in Liquid Force. But Nothing happened. _________________ ODPC |

of course cwb would be the second biggest company if LF and obrien were gone. they could never compete w/ a hyperlite/ LF merger. that would be the end of wakeboarding. and hyperlite could never afford to pick up LF . _________________ "stupidity will kill you!"

Why is everybody so worried about a "MONOPOLY" in the wakeboarding market? It seems that I read in all of these posts that Hyperlite is the anti-christ because they are the largest manufacturer.
They are the largest manufacturer for a number of reasons- but the main reason being that they were one of the first wakeboard companies and they SUPPORT and have ALWAYS SUPPORTED grassroots wakeboarding. That's more than I can say for alot of other companies, including alot of the "rider owned" and "underground" companies. Over the past few years they have been one of our largest supporters for all of our midwestern events.
I remember these same battles years ago when skateboarding and snowboarding were still emerging sports. "Burton's a monopoly...", "Powell-Peralta's a monopoly...".
Yes, everyone is trying to make a buck- that is the idea... but believe me- the wakeboarding industry is alot smaller than most of you think it is. No company is getting rich off this industry yet! Buy your next board because it rides better! |
