| Wakeboarding, you are being pulled. Snowboarding, you are being pushed. Thats the biggest difference. |

i'd say they are fairly dissimilar...i'm a half ass wakeboarder (can stick a few 3's...close on my inverts) and i went snowboarding for the first time and fell alot...although by the end of the day i was able to make it down the hill and carve heel and toeside no problem...it just took awhile to get used to it for some reason... _________________ got premier? |

Dude i wakeboarded first too and it just makes you learn snowboarding way faster than anyone else. Like you allready have a general feel for practically the same thing you just have to adjust a few things and you get the hang of it really fast. Basically you will just pick up snowboarding way faster than most people. Oh yeah and i would definately try snowboarding cuz its a great fun thing to do during the off season. _________________ Hitting the backrolls this year.. |

| Its different, cuz in wakeboarding you say balanced 50/50 or even lean back some . In snowboarding you have to leanr forward. In wakeboarding you pivot around your back foot, in snowboarding you pivot around your front foot... |

one thing that I am having a hard time adjusting to is, with snowboarding, you do not have fins, You slide around easier and use your edge differently. Many times when i land on my snowboard, i land as if i am wakeboarding and i lose my edge because i want to lean back the way you would with the rope.
- or maybe i am just doing it all wrong, none of my friends really wakeboard other than with me. |

| Nor*Cal, Im not sure if thats always true. In wakeboarding you have some wicked crashes goin 22 mph. The good thing about snowboarding is that you can slow down at will if you are out of control. Snowboarding is harder to learn than wakeboarding but once you get it you progress fast, wakeboarding is easy to learn but I think you dont progress as fast. Maybe it's just me. |

snowboarding crashes ARE worse, no question. at least when you start doing real kickers and table tops etc. oft times you are going faster than 22 mph snowboarding. however you can def. use that arguement of speed against snowboarding rails and wakebaord sliders. you go much slower snowboarding when hitting rails then in wakebaording _________________ "They misunderestimated me."-president bush |

Its pretty much the same except for the way u lean. Wakeboarding-lean back. Snowboarding- lean forward. I dunno why, but this made it a whole lot harder for me. and it hurts so much more if ur on ice. My ass was sore for weeks man. _________________ Carpe the dium man...

It has nothing to do with speed. The transitions on snowboard kickers, jumps and tabletops are a whole lot harder than water. _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

If you could snowboard you would be a jawesome wakeboarder. If you wakeboard you would be a above average snowboarder. Wake boarding is easier in my opinion. Fins, rope, easy falls (mostly).
The key to learning to snowboard is to exagurate (SP) everything. Start going down a hill and lean as ahard backside as you can. It give you the feel for how much pressure is needed.
Some snowboarding aspect are nice, dont have to worry about toe/heal side aproach very much. And you can just stand up with out sinking, can go as slow as you want. Quieter and everyone can do it at once.
P.s. if you can skateboard you can do anything because skateboarding is the hardest to learn even simple 180s. RIDE YOUR SKATEBOARD! You will improve in all board sports. _________________ http://mugatufilms.cjb.net

they are like day and night.....wakeboarding you drag and edge you can muscle it out, snowboarding you drang and edge your getting a mouthful....also I feel I put more weight on my foward foot snowboarding, do the threat of a face plant in wakeboarding. _________________ I'd rather die trying.....then live wondering |

yeah, like Nor*cal said the trannys is snowboarding are much worse too case. in wakeabording if you case the wake, no big deal, if you case the knucle on a 45ft kicker your screwed. too make sure you dont case you have to go faster on large jumps then you would normally go while wakebaording. nothing like charging into a jump with your coat and pants flappin. _________________ "They misunderestimated me."-president bush |
