Hi guys,
Since getting cruel temperatures from winter, I have started skateboarding. There is, however, a strange situation with my riding. When wakeboarding I use my right foot in front, and when skateboarding it’s the left one. With skateboards It’s impossible to ride with right foot, and with wakeboard it’s really hard to ride switch (with left foot).
What the heck is wrong with me?
(Sorry for the strange grammar, working on my writing for college, International student |

Yeah, that seems pretty weird. I had always skateboarded, surfed, and snowboarded regular (left foot forward). Then, when I tried wakeboarding, I was crossing the wakes and carving comfortably my first time up. I was probably better the first time riding regular than I am now after a hundred times riding switch (goofy).
So for me anyway, the programming carried over directly. I also had snowboarding and surfing in there as well so its a little different but my experiences with those were the same sk8 -> surf -> snow -> wake...seemed to always have a huge head start from previous activities but only regular stance. |

i dont know but it should be considerably easier for you two to learn switch, as compared to most people anyway. You guys could probably take a week with each board and actually be half way decent at riding switch for both. And its funny how JLC has way better english than most of the other people here. _________________ Hitting the backrolls this year.. |

thats how danny hampsen is, and he wakeskates. so thats a big problem for him but he figured it out, he rides goofy ( how he skates) when he does flip tricks and stuff, then he rides regular ( how we wakeboards) for wake tricks _________________ set your goals high, you'll always have somethign to strive for. |

weirdo's!! sideways is sideways. i am guessing those with mismatched riding styles didn't have the option or patience to change the stance on their buddies wakeboards when they learned. _________________ Thats gonna leave a mark!! |

Thanks men, I appreciate that.
About the weird riding style, I think I started wakeboarding with my switch side but I didn’t notice this. (Probably because I was to young and stupid)
I guess it would be easier to ride switch, just have to put a little effort into it.
Will try and keep you informed.
You should try riding switch i36hyperlite, I bet you will pull it off really fast. |

I just thought of something else.
It seems fairly common for people to switch their stance when slalom skiing and doing board sports. I've never slalomed it but I guess it's a really different technique. I know a couple of regular-footed wake/snow/skate boarders who used to ski "goofy" when they slalomed.
So, I'm wondering if you people with different stances might have a more slalom-like style of wakeboarding (whatever that means) vs. a more snowboard-like style of riding. _________________ We are wakeboarders and our culture is advanced beyond all that you can possibly comprehend with one hundred percent of your brain. |

salmon_tacos, I used to ski... left foot forward, same as i board - regular.
And for the record I skate and snowboard left foot forward as well, I'm going with the philosophy you guys were dropped as kids |
