What it takes to start a Cable Park?

What issues need to be implemented in order to start a cable park?

Quite a few. I´ll write the things I know. Firs you need a place where the water is flat as much time as possible. Then you need all the permissions to build something on the water - at least in Europe is like that. Then you need a cable whitch costs about 300 thousand dollars with a small bar toilet... As much kickers and sliders as possible. And that is about it. Of course you need a few more things but these things are most important.

after talking to the owner of the new kansas city cable about this very subject start uop costs for cable, the lake(if you build your own which is defenatly the way to go because then you desingn the lake to fit the cable, not vice versa), and a small pro shop would cost around 750,000 to a million. with the lake around half a mill. the hardest thing to do is actually get insurance. it's extremly hard to find a company willing to insure a place like a cable park. if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

where you are talking about building them in those three states you have to get land and water rights for the land. Very expesive. I had investors and all the plans drawn up to start another cable in AZ. The cheapest land we could find that was in a good location and big enough for our plans was 13 million+ dollars and then we still had to build, buy the cable and get the water rights. The water rights are the hardest thing to get and one of the most expesive.

If cables are this hard to get up and running, how are there so many in Europe, is there anyway to make it easier? Derrick, do you know when the cable in Kansas City will be open? Will it be open for next summer?

xtremebordgurl- cables are hard to get up and running in the us because of a couple things. gas and boats are so expensive overseas compared to the usa cables are a more practcal solution. also there's a little thing called liability. it's very hard to find insurance for cables not to mention the highg costs of them. also cables are very expensive considering they're usually seasonal operations. the kansas city park is completly done and ready to go....he's just waiting on water. there's really no reason to pump the lake full during the winter so he's just waiting for rain. if it doesn't come then he'll pump it into it.
