OMG I am soooo happy!

A freind of mine that I work with, inherited a 2 bedroom camphouse on the river where we ride. They never use the place, so we've been talking about renting it by the month.......$160 a month plus utilities!!!! yahoooo! damn I'll save that much just by not driving back and fourth, it is right on the water so I can leave the boat in all weekend + it has an extra lot with a hookup so we can invite some of our friends too! .....sorry just had to share, I'm just soooo happy! Shocked

here is an old pic, you can't see the camphouse but you can see where it is located, just to the left of the rider where the pine trees begin! nice sandy spot/ shaded and always butta on the river!

The Sabine River, it gets really wide about 5 miles before it feeds into Toledo Bend, then it runs into the Gulf......I think?

Right on..that's awesome! Congrats!

Not to change the subject but how much different is it to ride on a river as opposed to a lake? I've never ridden/driven on anything but lakes. Do you have to be more careful of debris? How much harder is it to park/dock/pull out a boat? The only river I have near me is one that is more like a creek in some places and one that you'll end up growing a 3rd ear if you get in it.

I ride on the TN river sometimes and it isen't much different than our lake but it gets choppeier sometimes...

indywakechica, it all depends on the river. For instance, one of our favorite riding spots here in Austin is the Pedernales River. The Perd is SLLLOOOOOWWW moving and butter all the time. Pretty sure the same is true of the Brazos where the Dallas crew rides occasionally. If your river is skinny and calm, you'll have butter, if it is wide and fast moving, it probably won't be great for riding.

jt09, so true. The Delta is a river as well, but the current there is 10x more than what you guys have on the Perd....It was almost like a narrow lake to me.

You have to be a little more careful of debris especially after it rain a lot up stream. A little current is actually a good thing it disipates the boat wakes faster. One more good thing about a river is that you only have to watch for other boat traffic forward and behind you.

yes this river is really slow moving too, so its really just like a narrow lake with high banks and huge pine trees to block the wind! hehehehe! - pine trees make butta! but debris is really a problem after a big rain......but if you can get away from the other boats during the debris time, the debris usually flows in a narrow path in the fastest part of the river.....its fun to ollie over floating logs......

right now our river is about 12ft low as always during the winter.....(working on the dam) - we are going to make sure that bank/swimming area is clear of stumps/whatnot this weekend!
