These forums were great for information and a laugh here and there, but now there a joke. All everybody talks about is sponsorship, new gear (theirs is better than the rest) Everybody has a new boat (which of course makes you the best rider in the world ect............then you look at the profile pics and most of the people seem to be "posers" lame ass kids that left school early to rip on each other for the sport we all love. Get back to the roots and keep it real.

The other thing that pisses me off is people posting new topic when there is already another one already made. A week ago, there were three posts with the exact same question and title, but worded differently Evil or Very Mad

I kind of agree, although i really want a new boat and board because im wakeboarding with a $100 hyperlite w/bungee bindings off of a jetski, and i do think that it will ALLOW me to get better but not MAKE me better, and i do hate "I just spent $900 on a wakeboard which means my board is better than all of yours, which means so am I" But i really hate people who sit here and bitch about the "posers". I think that you started a good thread saying that people are NOT their equipment and they should stop saying stupid stuff and posting the same message 3 times, but alot of things like this are "wow that was a stupid question youre such a retard" hopefully this will thin out and people will become a little more intelligent.

The only reply to my thread is, I used to be a junky to this site until I saw the same people ripping each other apart and talking crazy Sh*t about their equiptment. Because I'm no longer a junky I didn't see the topic "3" other times, I just decided to take a glance and saw the same ol' sh*t I used to see.

I think people need to stop complaining. If its this big of a problem to you, start your own forums and make people fill out applications and you can pick and choose who you want to post things up.

So, people turn to stuff they would talk to their buddy's about.....like cars, trucks, boats, chicks, current events. We all have something in common....we just NEED to ride! I agree with NAW, Dees and Wakeboy... Shut up about how much this site sucks. It is what we make of it. Personally, I think that Pat has done, and continues to do a great job with this site and I hope that people understand what he does to keep this up. It's tough not to get into fights about who has a better boat/board/crap like that due to the fact that this is a sport that carries with it an image. When I tell people that I wakeboard they're like no way, thats so awesome, cause they've seen it, but don't know a lot about it. When I used to sit on my parents I/O watching other people on the lake with wakeboarding boats, I was envious as hell. I wanted that boat because I thought it would make me better. It seems like now people want that boat because when they get it, they'll be better than the person sitting on the I/O. On these forums, tons of people have SWEET boats and it's harder for many people to make everyone else say wow. On these sites if you don't have the newest, biggest, fastest, loudest, or the most chrome, you're not going to get the "oh wow" effect. It's easier in many people's minds to spend $$ than it is to get better wakeboarding. Wakeboarding isn't about how much you have, how good you are, or what you are getting, it's about fun. People tend to forget that, but it'll come back when we get back on the water. Just my 2 cents...

Well said, Supra. Like Swass, I don't really get in on the smut/bashing/criticizing threads. But the point is, post on the threads you're interested in and stay off the ones you're not. Everybody should remember that this site connects us fellow wakeboarders to each other. (thanks Pat) Personalities are going to clash and friendships will blossom, just like in any other social environment. Pat's right, the boards are what you make of them.
