I sent my bindings in for warranty work. I popped a lace eyelet on each of the bindings. So, I rode in them the rest of the season and took them down to Sun and Ski. The girl wrote up a repair form letting them know that I wanted to get the toe pieces changed to a Large, the left overlay was torn, and that the eyelets were busted. Sun and Ski calls me today and tells me they're ready. WTF? No call to tell me how much the new toe pieces are?? Not only did they NOT replace the tpe pieces... they didn't replace the ripped overlay.

Sorry for venting.....

Yeah, the eyelets are fixed. They must have just stitched new ones on the old overlays. I would never have expected such crappy service. I was on the phone with them after I talked with Sun and Ski. The guy wanted to know the RMA# so he could track down the RMA info.

They're a set of Parks. I've had them about 8 months. I have some crazy crashes, but that's to be expected.

seems to me that hyperlite owes you a replacement overlay....unless you started that tear with a knife...j/k. I would call the shop you had send them back and get them to find you an overlay and replace it for you....if that does'nt work, get them to get you an overlay and replace it yourself. It's not that hard. I replaced plenty of those overlays last season. Wink

Yeah I agree, they should be warranty. Bindings are too expense to be tearing after a few months and HL give a years gurantee.

Im sure its just a misunderstanding, Maybe the shop you took it to didnt relay the correct msg to HL.

The bindings were already there getting the broken lace eyelets fixed. Who ever fixed them must be blind to miss that. Besides, it was listed on the vendor repair form. I thought I'd get new overlays... not sewn on eyelets.

I'd be willing to bet that if you took them to Sail and Ski (not Sun and Ski), they'd do it for you. I took my bindings in last year and they had no problem getting the broken baseplate fixed.

Are your bindings 02 or 03 models? I have the 02 belmonts and the overlays started to tear down the sides behind the eyelets. My shop didn't even have me send them in, they just ordered the new overlays and I installed them myself. I was worried that it would happen again since the overlays were the same. i talked to the HL rep at a boat show and he told me that the 03 overlays were being made of a new material that wont rip like that and if mine ripped again to send them in and they would get the 03 overlays.

sorry to be long winded, but i think your problem rests with your shop. i've had several dealings with HL and have always been treated great. Hell the last time I found out that Danny Harf was at the factory so I asked the customer serv. guy if he could get me a poster signed, I had it in the mail in 3 days.

I have to agree, try bringing them to a different shop. I had some overlays replaced after the warrenty was up, and they never charged me for them. I have always had good luck dealing with HL. Sounds like your shop isn't taking care of you.

You shop sucks, I brought my parks in at the end of the season for ripped overlays and a little rip inside the binding, they sent them to hyperlite and they replaced everthing perfectly.

I agree. Hyperlite has overlays in most of our shops here and you can have the shop replace them for you for free.

They said they had changed the toe pieces out to a Large.. I had to send another pic to Hannah showing the tear and the size.

Prolem solved, she's sending out new toes and new overlays.

Thanks for the "push" everyone! Except the person that voted NO Twisted Evil

Thanks Hannah!

Yo your shop sucks, first off theyshould have replaced that no worries, then if there was a problem..Hyperlite would have handled that no worries either...seems like you got it under control...sometimes you have to step up and let people know whats up! either way thats not cool on the shops end of things!

everyone buys hyperlite because they stand behind their gear. i wouldn't hesitate to buy from them because of their repair dept. twice i sent bindings in twice they fixed them stronger than new. plus it only took two days to get it back. they don't make crap, sometimes in an effort to create a better product, they create flaws. i.e early Honeycomb models. bottom line...receipt or not, they will take care of you.

magellan, what board/binding do you ride, please tell us so we can all ride boards and bindings that are perfect. Everything that is produced by man is going to have flaws, a good company will fix these flaws for you. Hyperlite backs there products even after the original warranty expires, that makes them a great company in my opinion. I would love it if my silverado were to have a problem after the warrenty expires and have gm fix it no qeustions asked. Even within the waranty it can be a headache to get something fixed.
