Here are some pics of a truck that was built by a shop where my friend works. Not too bad for a FORD. By the way it just got back from SEMA.

Details Details Details Tire size, size lift, and rims those are sweet. Sweet truck for a ford of course, don't know if any of you have looked in the inside of those babies yet but way to nice for a work truck. Looks mean though. Thanks

I agree with Inggy and scott-a I think it's quite the opposite of a small... I think it's more like someone has a HUGE... But just JMO I guess until you've been in something like that and your unstopable you might just not understand.

| It's not about compensating for anything. It's about not looking like every other truck out there. I'm sure y'all do stuff to your boat to make it look different from the other same brand boats.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
sorry, once again i will say that i dont mean to offend anyone, but i think that its absolutely rediculous to do something like that to a truck. but if you wanna spend $10K (or whatever it costs) on a suspension/lift/tires/etc then umm have fun guys....

The truck is actually a show truck and all of the parts were free. As you can imagine, show trucks tend to be exaggerated. The lift was fabricated by the owner (whiplash suspensions), tires and wheels (KMC Wheel), all the billet (trenz) was free. While they were at SEMA, they were offered just about anything that you can think of for free (stereo, wheels, anything aftermarket), just so the manufacturers can get some name recognition.
As for the truck, I am 6'3" and I could barely get into it. Rediculous yes, but practical as a driving billboard and I guess that's the point.
Anyway for the specifics,
14" Whiplash X-series kit
20" KMC wheels
40" Truxus tires.
Oh yea and the stickers were there for the show because of the sponsorships.

For some it's about being extreme, if your going to raise, it put in the clouds, if your going to lower it , make it scrape the road reflectors.

Once again it's not about compensating for someting that isn't there it's just simply personal taste. As for spending the money like calair03 said it's all free. I would do it, you would too if you could. Imagine buying a brand new boat of your choice and someone offering to trick it out however you want it just for putting some stickers on it with their name. Maybe he just likes trucks more then boats. Calair when you talk to him next, get some Exhaust on that beast, other then that looks mean. Can't believe those are 20's on there. Looks great man.

calair03, I'm 6'4" - 215 lbs and drove an F-150 for 4 years. No problems here. After looking at the close-up of the shock mounts you can see the washers flexing, and they didn't use the top quality bolts (only three marks on the head)? Why put a sick lift with cheap parts? How about a shot of the steering extension?
It does look awesome. BIG Huevos.

| i think Ford also redesigned thier engines. I thought i remeber hearing that the now have 3 valves per cylinder, and it increased the power output by 15%.

I basically agree with the people who see no need for that amount of customization. And I do believe that the vast majority of people who do stuff like that have low self-esteem and big egos. But like anything else, it's none of my business and if that is what he likes, great for him. He probably thinks spending 50K, or 40K, or 30K on a wakebaord boat is pretty silly too.

CenturionDad, The kit was fabricated in less than a week before the show. They pretty much threw it together and put it on. It is actually the manufacturer's truck so I am sure that the bolts are sufficient.
As for you Ford lovers, the tranny went out on it this morning and had to be hauled back on a flatbed. Oh yea and even with new gears the truck was underpowered, but hey it's mostly for looks anyway. It's not like you could take it to the Rubicon.

A couple comments/observations. First, regarding the truck's lack of power. Let's see, it's running 20" wheels, 40" tires, and carrying God only knows how many additional pounds of lift kit parts. And I bet it's draggin' all that around with inadequate rearend gearing (probably less than 4.11). And you didn't mention what engine it had, the 4.6L or th 5.4L. If it's the 4.6L, that engine was underpowered for last years truck and returns unchanged for the 2004 model year. Second comment, and this regards the death of the tranny. Take all of the items I mentioned in my first comment and couple them with obscene driveline angles with that lift installed. Trust me, with all this, just about any OEM tranny from any of the big three manufacturers would fail.
As was mentioned earlier in this thread, this is a show vehicle (i.e. exaggerated) and as such, it's performance and reliability should not be compared to it's stock counterparts.
I'd like to close with a comment about Ford trucks in general. I myself have had two Ford trucks over the past 10 years and I've been very pleased with how they've served me. I personally think Ford builds a great truck.

Yeah Ford and Chevy both make good truck. The only company I have heard consistent negative things about are Dodge vehicles. Having never owned one I can not verify nor deny that.
Anyway, that truck is sort of a joke. Any lifting that extreme says pimienta pequeña to most folks. Especially women.
