Does anyone here have experience with these, particularly the 3 new designs.

I'm getting a complete setup from LF and/or Obrien for free this year and I'm curious about the new bindings. Only problem with the top two designs is they won't ship until Jan, so I guess I'm kinda curious about the Alpha's as they will ship earlier.

I like a nice stiff binding with some solid forward lean. I dunno if anything in either of their in their lineup suits, if it doesn't I'll have to spring a rediculous amount of money for Randy's new CD bindings, as they seem to have features right up my alley and Solbound is screwed now.

So if anyone has riden, touched or smelt the new bindings gimme your thoughts.

Rambling post now over...

Ok this sounds strange but...I got to touch the bindings at Worlds yesterday. I only saw the Alpha and the Transit. And let me say these bindings are going to be amazing. I have the Nice PRS1s and what I love about them is the footbed. These LF bindings have a similar, if not identical, footbed. It's super soft and conforms well to your foot. These bindings are really soft and look like they will fit to your foot instead of forcing your foot to fit in them. They look and feel extremely comfortable. I would recommend demoing these first because they will be different from what most people are used to. If any of this doesn't make sense let me know and I will try to clarify.

Did you feel the new material inside of the bindings? Its supposed to make it easier to slip your foot in or what not. I cant decide if im gonna buy some '03 ultras for real cheap or wait and get one of the new LF bindings.

I think it would be easier. It feels like my Nice bindings and you only need water to get those on. I would probably wait. Or get the cheap Ultras now and get the Transits cheap this time next year. I couldn't wait that long though.

from what i saw yesterday at worlds the alpha and transit look very similar. The footbeds are different and how they hook onto the board is different. I also saw the ultras which have the new neoprene inside. I think im gonna try them on to see if i like the new design and front lace on the alpha and transit or the ultras. i think the neoprene inside on the bindings and the base plate on the ultras and alpha is a big step up from last year. I saw shawn watson and he had the 04 ultras so i think that maybe the new bindings might not have alot of side to side movement.

Does anyone know how much the new Ultras will be selling for? I thought i read something on wakeworld about the "other" bindings(ultras, exos, and the other older bindings) will drop $20 in price. And the transits are about $300 or so.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

I wish they shipped a little earlier.

Just another question, how stiff did they feel? I don't really like 'cooshy' bindings, I perfer being solidly locked in and being able to really feel thats happening. For instance, I'd always take Byerly bindings over Parks.

Id say from what u described and from my experience with the AS01's from CD ... thats the route u should go .. the forward lean is adjustable and they are really stiff which I like too .. I am gonna pick up a pair of them before next season ... now I just gotta narrow down the new board options to one that I like the best

for some reason they felt softer to me, but I didn't check any other bindings. I guess that could be why.

I just received a pre-production sample from our rep this week of the Minx and Transit (one of each). I'm impressed with them. I could actually put the binding on without even getting my foot wet because of the neoprene inner material. The footbed is really comfortable, the angle adjustability with the new plates looks very good (every 2 degrees with indicators so you can always get them set the way you like), and they fit very well. These weren't final versions, so there may be a tweak or two to the fit, but I was quite pleased. The neoprene is going to make the Ultras more user friendly, for sure. I don't know if I'd say that the Transit is stiff, but it's not loose, either. You should see the Transit selling for around $329, Exos for $249, Ultras for $225, and Alphas for $199. With the new inner material on the overlays, they are stitched all the way around the outer edge, so I feel that they will be more durable this way, too.
