I've got a friend who wants to buy a portable mp3 player with a decent amount of memory but at a price range of around 200-300 bucks.
Can anyone recommend any good players with a decent memory/price ratio? |

| I've got a really small I-river that is about the size of a big pink eraser and it'll hold like 100 songs except I can't figure out how to lower the bitrate. |

Get an iPod. They're both Mac and PC compatible. They work like a charm and transfer of songs is super fast.
I have a Palm Tungsten E w/256 mb memory card that doubles as an MP3 player. It doesn't hold near as many songs as what an iPod will but I wanted an MP3player/PDA combination. |

I found a great portable one. I got this one for $120 shipped, its 128MB which gives you around 25-35 songs. The larger IPOD's and others are much better quality with much more features, but for a straight-up portable this one was the coolest I found..

Its ideal for running/working out and it was absolutely perfect for snowboarding (theme music baby!). It has a lanyard so it hangs off your neck, the earbuds come off the lanyard so its super comfortable, once its on you just forget about it. And the play/pause button is a big button in front so i just slap my chest when I want to pause it |

| Yeah, I can wear earbuds but they tend to fall out and/or be uncomfortable in my ears. Much prefer headphones. |
