Will there be a difference getting 3-ways coax's on the tower over the 2-ways? Probably getting Kappa's. Any thoughts? |

How many do you have up there and can you hear it clearly when you're boarding?? Anybody else? 2-ways or 3-ways? |

MackDaddy,
Next time take a minute and read what I write. "they are heard perfectly all over the lake" - meaning it sounds good all over the lake. The question wasn't about Boss, it was about Infinity Kappa 3way vs 2way _________________ Weight it, Gas it, Crank it, and just rip. |

A) Boss does not make speakers, they make canisters and buy speakers.
B) Anybody have the 2-ways instead and are they as loud and clear? I now know the 3-ways will kick but can I save a few bucks and be just as happy with the 2-ways? |

C'mon, I know a lot of your guys have coax's on your towers. 2-ways or 3-ways? Is it worth it to get the 3-ways ways? |

I'd say three ways, but either way your going to want some kind of crossover to filter out the lows.. Either on the amp if you have it or something in line.. |

make sure you take into account how much power is running to your speakes (2 way or 3 way), you can buy top of the line speakers with a poor under powered amp and they will sound not so good.
best thing to do is find a local audio shop, listen to them (taking note of how much power they are using to push them) and make your decision based on sound. Some brands are so close in quality/price/etc that it comes down to what they sound like.
ask them to play 2way vs. 3way (with the same amount of power), that should give you a really good basis for a decision...regardless of brand.
and make sure (as stated in a thread above this) to filter out the low end, 6x9's and coaxs aren't subs! they are meant for a certain range of frequencies. |

Thanks guys. I know I'm going with the Kappas and they can handle a lot of power. I have a choice of a couple big amps on hand so enough power isn't the issue. The Kappas have the separate passive crossovers so I was planning on not getting an extrenal crossover. Do I still need another crossover? I'll go listen to both and have them cranked to compare.
Also, thanks AGAIN for telling me about Boss "canisters" when I asked about coax's. |
