Do boats come waxed? Do you guys wax your boats and if yes, what kind of wax do you use? _________________ "Have you ever noticed that waffles are just pancakes with syrup traps?"

I wax my boat...My dealer pointed me to this 3M liquid wax. I can't remember the name but it comes in a black container, with dark grey and dark green trim (Very plain looking labels). Stuff works like a dream though. It is expensive but worth it! _________________ Riders Inc. |

I use Maguiars Premium wax. It comes in a black bottle. We're happy with the results. Generally I wax once or twice a year. |

Do you need a wax to match the color to your boat? Or will one particular wax work for all colors? (I assume waxing will help prevent some of the little scratches as well as make it look nice.) Can some one confirm this? Or am I stupid? _________________ "Have you ever noticed that waffles are just pancakes with syrup traps?"

That color matching wax junk is stupid. Do not buy it. Stick with Maguires or check with your ocal Automotive Paint store. I have one near me that sells the commercial stuff by 3M. Pricy but works great. Wax will not only help protect your gelcoat, but also wards off water spots if done regularly. I will usually wax my boat before any week long trips when the boat sits in the water a lot. They make a lot of spray on wax cleaners for day to day maintenance. Just make sure and put the wax on when the boat is cool, out of the sun. _________________ "DDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG"
