Are these new/used? What year are they and what models as I can't really tell from looking. The moomba looks like an outback.
You must remember, that you can't get an idea of the wake just from manufacturer alone.... the year and model matter because of different hull designs and other factors.
I have an 04 Moomba XLV and am thrilled with it.

| Well I just sold my '03 Outback so I can say for a fact that it has a sweet slalom wake, and with some fatties or extra ballast it had a medium size wake for boarding. I ski mostly so wasn't concerned with a monster wake for boarding but the boat was awesome. I noticed that your looking at a new Outback, there's also a black one on boattrader.com that is used that's the same colors with only 29hours or so. I know it's been taken care of and it has a few more options, 6x9 Kenwood speakers, 320HP EFI motor, bimni, snap on covers, etc.. Check it out.

I am looking at this boat also. Can I ask where you got it.
I am being quoted around 43K for those same options. Except I am only looking at the 320 hp.
Have you taken it out at all? How is the wake and do you feel the 320 hp engine will be enough with it weighted down?
You are the first I have heard from that owns one so I am just curious what youthink.
Thanks,

Personally, I think the wake is awesome... of course I am coming from a jet boat. On the other had, I guy that wakeboards a lot was out with me this weekend and said that the wake I was throwing with no ballast was large, solid and had a nice little vert at the top. I haven't even filled all the ballast yet so I can't say how big those are. No ballast is more than enough for me right now... almost intimidating.
As for the price, I lucked out a bit and this was a photo shoot boat that they used for some brochures. It had 20 hours of light use on it so I got it for cheaper however it was never registered and is sold as new from Skiers Choice, all standard warranties apply from my purchase date. They are replacing the rub rail (slight scuffs), the decal (slight nick) and also through in a free 20 hour service. The way I look at it, they broke it in and there is nothing that would indicate that it was ever used except for the 20 hours on the clock.
I have only been out in it twice, once to wake board and I love it. Size, storage but yet still handles well and puts at a great wake at a low price. I love it... tower is very sturdy too... the guy I took out with today said it was very nice... the tubing is THICK.
Feel free to ask anything else or PM me. I don't want to hijack this guys thread too much although we are talking about a moomba here.

I have a Moomba Mobius, I believe it is the same hull as an Outback? I could be wrong on that. But anyway, I can say nothing but good things about ours. We just put 1 season on her and had minimal problems.
When weighted the Moomba throws a sweet wake. We use 800lbs stock ballast then we throw in a couple side sacs along the engine. You can tailor the shape with the wakeplate which we really love.
I was reading the boat trader site and it didn't mention if the boat had a wake plate. If it doesn't I would see if you can get it added. It is well worth it.
Good Luck with your decision. As always test drive both boats before you choose...

I love my 03 Outback. It puts out a very clean weight. I have added 4 sacs in it and the wake is good. Few pics

If you are looking for a great wakeboard wake and don't care about a slalom ski wake, get the mobius LSV. The LS is a direct drive and the LSV and the XLV are V drives which are typically better for wakeboarding although you do sacrifice some handling.
Love my XLV.

Ahhhh, understood. I did about the same thing. Bought a boat and really didn't know what I was going to want to do on the lake the most. So, now that I know wakeboarding is a big part of it, I ended up taking a little loss and getting the Mobius XLV... fortunately I found this one that was discounted since it did have 20 hours on it.

I've ridden several models of Centurion, and a couple Moombas.
My conclusion: I wouldn't consider any Centurion. As for Moomba, the MobiusV is really nice and under-rated.

I agree that the MobiusV is under-rated. The MobiusV is no longer in 04, it has been replaced with the Mobius XLV which is a brand new hull designed specifically for wakeboarding (where previous hulls were derived off of the ski hulls).
Matt Brown has done an awesome job with the XLV. I would have to say the construction is a notch above the previous Mobius lines (thicker cushions, damn thick tower tubing, etc...

Why don't YOU go drive the boat, and see how you feel about it, instead of double posting the same questions in both forums?
Also, you could use the search function.

I'm inclined to say that the SSV wake is similar to that of Centurion's...not so big (compared to CC, MC, Malibu, and even MobV), soft & washy.
But hey, don't take my word for it...it's just my opinion. Demo the boat(s) you're considering. What may be small to me, may be big to you.

I noticed that you have the seating capacity of the XLV as 10. It is actually 16, not 10.
Just trying to help.

I have a moomba mobius lsv (v-drive) and I love it ! the wake is really nice. I have a trim plate and I think it makes the diference. It"s very nice for wakesurfing too. the only thing is the swim plate is too low and it's always claping the whater when you chill in the middle of the lake.
here's my baby :
