hey, i was wondering if i could wakesurf behind my sea-doo challenger x. it throughs a good wake, but will i get chopped up or something? i don't think i would, but i want to play it on the safe side.
since i'm gonna just start wakesurfing what board should i get. i weigh 115 pounds and i'm 14 years old. i do want something with a reasonable price.

I kinda doubt it, but stranger things have happened. I think you need a wake bigger than your challanger for decent surfing. |

There's no prop to get chopped up by, but I've read warnings on jetskis that went along the lines of if you get in the way of the jet, water "could forcibly enter your rectum or vaginal cavities, causing serious injury or death." It used those words exactly.
I don't know if falling in the way of the jet would kill you, but I doubt the wake is big enough to make the surfing decent enough for it to be worth doing. |

Try and see if you can demo or borrow one first. It would be good to find out if the wake is big enough for it to be worth it before you spend the $$ on buying one. I know the challenger has a decent wake, but I don't think it's up to par for wakesurfing. |

I played around on it a little with like a boogie board just for fun holding onto the handle. If you fell anywhere near the jet going at like 10mph i dont think it would do much except push you away. Its still powerful though. _________________ www.krookedminds.com

F**K EVERYONE THAT HATES ON JET BOATS!!!!!! i have a sea-doo utopia and it throws a perfect waeksurf wake. we do it all the time.
apple101, Sportster4Tec, bluefish86, don't knock on sh*t that u don't know about.
first of all to get it to work u need some weight obviously. we run 500lbs on either side of the boat (depends if a goofy or regular ridng is riding) the boat throws a perfect right and left. we run the boat at 4500 rpms and r goin about 11 mph. we also have to turn slightly to either side. to get some things staight, the jet will not kill u ur hurt u in away way. it might give u a soothing message at the most. there is no way taht u can get chopped up b/c the intake is way underneith the boat. just experimet and it will work i'm proof. we also use an old zap skimboard w/ a premier fin drilled in it and it works just as good as any boroadcast or landlock. _________________ My videos- www.wakepics.com/member/GhettoLake4

and just incase he's not patient enough to wait until this weekend, watch this video. in my friend jb's part, he wakesurfers behind my boat. and that footage is from the first day we did it and we were using a surfboard and didn't have the wake dailed in yet, now it's much better.

ghettolake415, wow, calm down. Someone's a little touchy. I never said the wake was bad. I even said it has a decent wake. All I said was I wasn't sure if it was enough for wakesurfing, and it would be a good idea to try first |

I have a jetboat ghettolake... look at the one in my avatar its a seadoo sportster 4-Tec... they do make better wakesurfing wakes than most people would think. The water intake is about 2 feet from the back of the boat, and it has a grate on it. I said the water jet would not be very strong at about 10-11mph. _________________ www.krookedminds.com

I had a 97 speedster and without weight or anything the wake was tiny, the good part of it is it would probably be easy to way down. I've ridden behind a challenger 1800 and the wake still wasn't that great. but i've seen a pic of ghetto lakes wake and it looks pretty good _________________ ow thats gonna hurt tomorrow

You won't get chopped up it has an impeller like a regular seadoo ther is no prop to chop you up inless your fingers though the suction guard and into the impeller and you would have to get ran over by the boat or stuck your fingers under the boat while it was idling
But is the wake big enough |
