My goal for this season was to get wake 2 wake. Been getting fairly close....UNTIL TODAY!!!! Started to think I wasn't going to get it this season and was so close so it was killing me. Technically the very tip of the tail...like an inch or two was actually on the wake but that's close enough for me and I landed it Very Happy Yesterday went out and was landing like in the middle of the board on the wake and kept digging the nose coming down and face planting. So excited that I got that moe foe today...had to share!!!!

Hell yea. I finally learned how to clear the wake last summer after struggling w/ it forever, but I guess i still sruggled w/ it. I would go flying into the wake at 30mph and just clear the wake because of speed. I went to Fl this summer to find out I was doing it all wrong. Here's a few pointers i learned from Darin Shapiro so you don't waste 2 summers stuggling like I did:
- dont cut into te wake with your knees completely bent!
- don't cut in at 30mph, Gradually cut in
- in order to pop you only need to sraighten your legs about an inch, so dont crouch down! (I have the hardest time w/ popping, ithink im physically retarted)
- lean AGAINST the rope!!! (very important)
Very Happy

best advise I've ever been given - think about pulling the tower off the boat - that really digs in your edge Laughing

I've heard that one about "ripping the tower off the back of the boat" - good visualization technique to help build tension, but I've got like 3 or 4 other things that I need to visualize at the same time!

Matter o fact I did let out a big wooo when I made it. You know I always let out a holla when it feels big...even if it's only really 2 inches of air Smile

Well you girls all deserve a great big congrats!!
I've been riding for two years very very sparadically, and I still haven't cleared the w2w.
Its been very frustrating and I realized that I wasn't having fun anymore forcing the thing to happen. So I gave up for a while. This weekend I went out and got much much closer. I also felt much better. Now I only need to keep the nose up.

I am also on the length of rope that the guys like to ride so I think I would clear it if it weren't for that..Or so I want to believe.
Anyways. I can get some good height and now that I'm not worried about it I'm enjoying myself more.
So again Congrats girls and I'm going to keep on trying.

I have been riding for a 1.5 months mostly on a cable, I did my first w2w last week. I used to surf and skied a bit when I was about 10 years old.

P.S. I am a guy but I like to read In this forum cause alot of the girls are on a similar division to me.

JRock*Girl, Did you go to Darin Shapiro's camp in Fl? If so, how was it? Worth the money? Question
