you could try little moulded fins that are part of the board, made with an extra sheet of ply wood. made one not so long ago an tried it in the weekend. made a bit of difference when comaparing a finless bottom

I might just raute some grooves near the two tips, this should give it some grip shouldn't it?

what he is saying is add a 4th layer of ply but remove most of it leaving moulded fins and if you want a center channel

a question abuot board shape: if you make it outqa 3 layers each layer more to the outside has to be slitghly longer, then if you bend the top layer, and glue the second layer on so it matches up edged to edge, it forces the board to hold its shape.

aFramer, i don't understand what you're saying. Glue the pieces of wood together first, and then cut out the shape if you're making one.

I know what Dev is saying, but it would be quicker and easier to just make some small, thin channels at each end of the board with a rauter.

no ontrider make the 3 cutouts but the inner one(top) is the actual lenght, the middle is slightly longer, and the last is slightly longer then the middle, if they are glued so all the ends line up, it forces th boards to bend. You can set your rocker by the differences in the boards, just make sure the change is equal between the 2nd and 3rd
