when you float a kicker, do you feel it move or flex alot when you hit it.
and when you do float it, how much height do you loose?

yeah i have made 2 kickes b4. both of them are floating a 1 or 2 pieces of 4x4 voltec. when u hit em you dont feel neflex or nething from them. they stay pretty sturdy. really u only loose 2 er 4 inches height wise. so its cool.

it depends on how good u make em. I prefer mostly stationary unless u can build some floating like at OWC Shocked , they are awsome at making those things Cool u dont lose that much height if the floatin is built well

Unless you have zero tide/depth change, you will want to use a floating kicker.

We floated ours with 2 x 200 liter barrels, and it hardly moves an inch.

No no, there are 3 anchor ropes, one off the front and one off each rear corner. They stop it floating away.

It moves when the wake hits it, not much but a little. By the time the wake hits it you are already flying through the air though!

There is actually a floor in that kicker (put in after these pics were taken) and several adults can sit, lay or even stand inside it at once. Its a great place to have a beer and get out of the sun, and it's fun to sit in while people are hitting it and watch them Twisted Evil We though about putting a clear plexiglass panel window in the surface so people inside could watch the rider approach, but it was expensive and impractical.

criminaly minded, how did you keep the backside afloat. or did the barrels at the front just keep the back from sinking farther?

wakerider07, there are 4 barrels in all, one for each corner, you just can't see the front ones (by front I mean the approach side). They are also set higher into the frame in order to drop the front and ensure the 'fender' protrudes nearly a foot under the water. Better safe than sorry.

We used an old jet ski hull. Filled the inside with spray foam and attached PVC pipe and it made a great kicker.

eda360,
Is Voltec What you floated it with or is that what you put on the surface of your jump?
