Soooo sick of all the bull with the wakesurfing!!!! Now they have this huge article in level 10 with this clown! promoting it! If you want to surf do it like it's supposed to be done ,IN THE OCEAN, !! I know that all these people who can't ride are going to be wakesurfing all day!!! plus all the old farts & injured peeps too!! I love real surfing, it's the !!! BUT... TAKE IT TO THE BEACH!!! Just think, on a nice glassy day, when you are all stoked to rip some weaksurfer is going to be plowing 12 mph in your direction!!!! CRAP!!! Evil or Very Mad

what you are saying is bs. Im sure when wakeskating was just taking off people thought skating should only be done in skateparks but look at wakeskating now they even had a wakeskate competition on the pro tour. I dont think wakesurfing can ever be a replacement for wakeboarding and i dont think most people find wakeskating a replacement for wakeboarding either sept for the people who are realy progressing at wakeskating and doing stuff that seems nearly impossible. you cant wakboard all the time but to substitute for the time not on the water you can ride on a skateboard or something to have fun as well as keeping the feeling of being on a board. I feel wakesurfing will be something to do when the water is too chopped up to ride but still doesnt look like the ocean. It can be some thing to do if you have a broken arm or something and cant wakeboard.

I suppose the people who are landlocked can just hop on a plane to go surf eh? I don't think people will be doing it when the lake is butter.

I don't do it too much because I surf in the ocean. It just doesn't compare, but I can easily see why it would appeal to a non-surfer. I'm all for it.

Why you got to hate man. I would love to be able to surf in the ocean every day. But here in Arkansas the waves suck. Your just like collin Wright......always find something to gripe about instead of just being glad you can surf and glad that you can wakeboard. chill man.....Don't hate appreciate the fact that more people are getting into the roots of the sport to see where it all originated. And how many people do you know that wakesurf on buttery days. peace.

I'm one of the OLD guys that wake surf, been doing it for years...

I would personally smack the stuff out of someone doing it when the lake is like butter... this is purely a second sport only to be done when the water is no good for wakeboarding or skiing or bare footing or anything else that requires smooth water....

Surfing in the Ocean is so territorial, you can't just paddle out to any old break and think you are going to drop in....you need to be brought into the loop by an established local..or else... yes even in NH......

you should here what real surfers think of boat pulled surfers. i am embarassed for us all. what next?...twin tip waterskiers at cable parks?

I surf 3-4 times per week and I don't give a crap what other surfers think. In fact all my friends that I've mentioned it too want to try it.

I tell them not to get their hopes up because it's not that great. Like I said before, if you have access to surf, then wake surfing is not that exciting. But for someone who is landlocked I think it would be a different story.

On a lot of days on my rough, overcrowded lake, surfing is way way more fun than wakeboarding. Is it as good as real surfing? No. Is it better than doing nothing. Yes. It's so much fun it's not even funny. It's not like people are trying to make a real sport out of it.

It's just something fun to do. I don't surf as much as Blabel but I first wakesurfed a few years ago when one of my surfing buddies thought it would be cool to bring a longboard out on the boat. On a longboard it isn't too much fun but you can still work on your footwork. Not a bad tool for teaching people how to balance on a surfboard. I think I'll teach my sister how to wakesurf so that when I teach her how to surf it will be easier and more about how to pop.

MAN!!! You guys sound like a bunch of F*%K#N WATERSKIER!!! Don’t make rollers dude, stay of my lake, I'll slap the sh*t out of you if you mess up my butter. You need to shove some butter up your tight A$$E$ and live in the same world with the rest of us.
All the complaints and comments are the same ones that wake-boarders accused the water-skier of making ten years ago. I thought wake-boarders were supposed to be better than that...I guess NOT!! Everyone’s entitled to have a good time behind their boats, no matter what they ride. Like it or not Wake surfing is going to progress and as the boat companies develop new technology to make bigger wakes it’s just going to get better. I grew up in the land of big waves (real big wave). Not closeout, crumbly, doubled up shore break. I definitely can appreciate real wave surfing, but I say!!! Surf it if you got it!!

By the way….now that there is going to be a World Wake-Surfing contest, I guess you can call it a sport!!

Yeah i think as long as you are having fun and staying safe and youll be ok with me (no jetskiers). To say wakesurfers ruin a wakeboarders water, is like what a water skier would say about a wakeboarder.

It's definitely fun, but we generally only break out the wake surfer when the water is choppy. I can't imagine ruining some glass to do some surfing. Plus you don't need calm water to wake surf.
