Itīs a scaled down luke wulf... why is that a problem? Itīs a proven shape (and one which will transfer very well to wakeskating--something you would know had you ever ridden it). Try it before you knock it.

A scale down design of an old wakeboard, now im impressed. Problem? Not mine. Proven shape or easier than developing a new one? Would transfer well to wakeskating? You should stick to making waterskis and wet suits. Its not a surprise coming from a company like wet tech. I dont have to try something to know if it works, seeing it at surf expo was enough. But then again, maybe ill try it when it goes on sale at my local Walmart. Thats where most of your products sell right?

sapporo, who are you talking to?

Do you have something better? How many wakeboard companies are doing the exact same thing you're complaining about. How do you know that there aren't modifications? You should be happy that there is another company trying to be successful in wakeskating. If everyone stuck to making waterskis and wetsuits there would be no such thing as wakeboarding. Wakeskating is a growing sport. And this is great for it and for us, consumers. More companies = more competitors = lower price. Try to be open minded about this.

Dear Kim, i wasn't talking to you, but since you need attention i will give you a little bit of my time and try to open your eyes.

Lets start with your pricing analogy. Flat decks are going for less than $100 and the profit margins are super tight. How much cheaper do you want them? Since you know so much about the economics of the wakeboarding industry, let me ask you. Have the prices of wakeboards and bindings gone down now that there is a higher demand and there is more competition? I will be waiting for your answer.

The last thing wakeskating needs is to have "scale down" wakeboards made by Wet Tech or companies that arent going to contribute at all. You asked me if i have something better, well i do. I have a couple of Cassette boards (the board of choice of UGP riders), also bought a Kampus board and a Mutiny board. And like i said when the Butter Boards go on sale at my local Walmart, i will buy one too. I think it will make a good cutting board for the kitchen.

Its funny that you have your UGP banner and claim to "know the story, don't repeat it". Do your research sweetheart and please don't tell me that you actually work for UGP. That would be very dissapointing.

First of all I never said I knew "so much about the economics of the wakeboarding industry", I merely stated my opinion, and what I know of economics. Since you appear to be an all knowing economics expert, let me ask you, how long does it take for a decrease in price, caused by competition, to take effect?

I also never claimed to "know the story, don't repeat it". I put that in there because I support that company. I'll make sure I change it to "Sapporo knows all"

Don't call me sweetheart, ok?

How do you know that Wet Tech won't contribute? Oh yeah you know all and can see the future, right? Every company big or small has potential.

Oh and when I quoted you about who you were talking to, it was a joke. I guess if I don't put "j/k" or a smiley you can't understand that. Or is it that you wouldn't know a joke if it smacked you in the face. You need to lighten up.

Iīm just going to stick to what I said before. Try it before you start ripping on it. Iīm excited for it. I donīt understand why people have so much negativity towards some things. For example, there are certain companies (whether it be wakeboarding, wakeskating, snowboarding, bmx, whatever...) that I could care less for. However, I donīt understand how ripping on them achieves anything other than annoying people. Have fun out there.

So now you dont know much about economics. Well, you sounded pretty authoritative when claiming that more companies and competition equals lower prices. You're obviously not going to answer my question even if you already know the answer. Regarding your question, the answer is probably never. Prices haven't gone down and they probably never will.

I dont need to know the future to tell you if a company is going to contribute to the sport. Quite the contrary, all i need to know is the past. Find out for yourself, ask around. Ask people that know. Read industry related sites. Take a look at whats going on in skateboarding and other action sports. And i dont mean this in a bad way, its important that people know whats going on. That is if they enjoy the sport and want whats best for it.

Oh and your joke, no i didnt get it. Sorry. I just think its retarded when people quote on the board. Like if one could forget what was said before. Especially the part you quoted, it had nothing to do with what you talked about in your post. And regarding your comment that i need to lighten up, go back and read your post and how you started it. Here i will quote you in case you forgot "Do you have something better?"

And just like you guys have the right to say this board looks good i have the right to say it sucks.

talk to you later sweetie...

I really don't feel like arguing about this. I don't care what I said, and I really don't care what you said. I'm not even going to read your last post. If you decide to buy it great if not oh well. Instead of ripping on a board company, thats doing more for the sport than you, you could just say "I don't think its going to work that well." I'll give you credit for speaking your mind though. Again, I don't appreciate the sexist name calling, but I don't really care. If you want to act like a child go ahead. I'm sorry if at any time I insulted your intelligence or made you angry. That wasn't my intention. Sorry again.

Sapporo,
I find it funny that someone so seemingly intelligent would make a comment about Butter Boards selling at WalMart when your favorite company, Cassette, is now on sale at the WalMart of watersports....

Guru, only wish i was inteligent, but anyways dont you think there is a big difference between Overtons and Walmart. I used to be kind of anti Overtons, but then i read and heard a couple of stories about Mr.Overton himself, pretty impressive contributions. In my opinion a lot more than the Triton conglomerate. And although i understand where you are coming from i never wanted that to be the focus of this topic, the point i wanted to get across is that a downsized wakeboard with trac top is not really a contribution to wakeskating. Also thought the name was pretty lame considering there is a bad ass wakeskating book with that name already.

Btw, is it the 04 stuff on sale at Overtons? Sometimes they pick up the older stuff from companies. The stuff that the cool shops wouldnt dare to touch. One cool thing about Overtons is that they ship overseas and for some people around the world that used to be the only way to get stuff. I'll check their site and get back to you on that one. Maybe i can order some Overton stickers online while im at it... sweet. Do you need some? Later guru, sir.

Here is the scoop. The board is brand new - new design, new mold, tested during the past summer by some of the Triton pros and others. It is comprssion molded, not plywood, so it is make like a wakeboard. I have not ridden it yet, so I do not know how it performs. It is available this week from the factory, about a week later at the dealers, depending upon shipping delay. They went for the high-end of wakeskates. Time will tell how they did, but I would not count it out for the podium next tour.
