I was just wondering, I was thinking about trying an oa backside 3 this weekend - first off the double up and if I succeed then off the wake...

Haha, I had that same thought a couple months back, I forgot though once I was out on the water. Maybe next outing. Mr. Green

I made a sweet .mov of Gerry Nunn throwing a hs bs 3, its pretty clean and watching it with the progress bar may help you out, let me work on the compression and I will post it for you this weekend.

It looks like he is 'blind' for the duration of the trick, you GOTTA keep that handle pinned in for the pass or you will get yanked, then SMACK.

yeah, fauker, i go off axis i made a thread about it a little bit ago but i don think anyone replied. i have landed a couple, but its pretty tough to stay on axis, but what i have learned is the main thing is WAIT! more so then any other spin otherwise you end up trying to throuw yourself around and it hurts pretty bad, anyway, good luck, tell me how it goes.

Try indy glides. Throw an Indy glide but as soon as you get about half way up keep looking over your shoulder and pull the handle to the small of your back. Good luck. It is also easier off the double up.

Premiere is giving me fits- Its kinda small res but you can use the progress bar to get a better look. He takes it way out but still its a nice rear foot heavy, steep lift off the wake, then he initiatest the bs rotation by letting the board drift. I agree though throw it off a clean 2up.

Backside o/a spins are tough bc you gotta initiate it after your pop, its like comparing a backroll release to a frontflip release. I say huck the motions a couple times and scope things out Smile

I'm finally going riding today! It's behind an I/O however. But, I can still try some bs off axis, probably off the double up. I'll report when I get back. Mr. Green

Man, today was the busiest day I've seen at the lake in a while, kinda weird. Anyway, I did get one good double up and gave it a shot. I started spinning off axis, but forgot to pull in on the handle, so it was way out behind me, I missed the handle pass, so I stayed off axis, and over rotated the 3 so I came down and slapped my lower back/upper butt area nice and hard. Surprised

So, from that one attempt, it seems like you really need to pull the handle in and don't worry too much about the spin itself, that part's probably pretty easy. Hopefully next time I go out it'll be behind the Super Air.
