Newbie … first off this is a kick-ass board and want to thank everyone here for all the info and good discussions I’ve been able to find …

My best-friend and I just started the wakeboarding thing and are hooked for life … he’s won big and I mean BIG in the stock market and after playing with other friends boat’s he’ll be heading over to the local dealer to buy one … problem is that he has stupid cash which brings on stupid decisions like not researching stuff and walking into a dealer saying “give me the best of everything thanks bye!?!?” This is where I come into the picture and hence my first post ….

If you were in the market to start buying sh*t and let’s say you won the lottery what would your dream boat setup be??? Best of the best?? Which …..

Boat?
Tower?
Lighting System?
Camera System?
Tower Speakers?
Board Racks?
Fat sacs?

Am I missing anything?

I’m leaning towards the Air Nautique 210 …. I hope this gets good response …

Thanx

I'm almost too jealous to answer that question and have never owned any of that stuff so I'm not the expert. Only advice I can give is resist the urge to purchase immediately....take the time, research, demo, ride behind the boats you're considering. I really don't think you can go wrong w/Nautique, Malibu or Mastercraft. Tige makes a nice boat too. Of the dealers in your area, who has the best most convient service? That's an important factor. Talk with other people who have bought from those dealers to see how their experience was.

Hah, if I won the lottery I could easily spend more money on just a camera system than on any wakeboard setup, INCLUDING the boat. In the world of photography, having $100k+ of gear is not all too uncommon....then again, it would be nice to have the other stuff....tough choices.

As the tower what do you guys think of this un-common design with the tower slightly to the back ... will this affect the sound since the speaker's will now be further back?? Anyone have experience with it?

Agh the backwards Rival tower is really ugly. The '04 Illusion tower on the new Malibus is the best looking backwards towers. That Rival one is placed so far back it would get in the way alot. That is one of the main problems with the backward towers is they get in the way or people getting in on the side of the boat and the bimini tops are farther back and everything.

My dream setup would be a 2003 Malibu VLX. All the extra goodies. Titan Tower. About 2000-2500 pounds of ballast. My own Byerly, Premier, Substance and Prodigy Boards equipped with Byerly, Belmont, and Ultra Suction bindings. My own house on a lake with a water trampoline hooked up with a rope and handle for practice. A couple of sliders and a kicker and a Seadoo jet ski to pull me on those. Also a nice Tahoe or Dodge 2500 truck for the tow vehicle. And lots of friends to take out on the boat and enjoy it with me. If i could have all of that i would be set for life!! Very Happy

Boat:Tige 22v
Fat sacs? get one with internal ballast.
and you have to get the equipment aswell. My choice would be LF substance, Parks bindings. You need a wakesurf board too.

dferdows, nice first post! Excellent topic - this is what I daydream about ALL DAY and why I play the lottery! Welcome to the board noob!

I am almost in exact agreement with Josh R

'03 SAN TE and I would race to buy it before the ugly '04 come out. Love this boat, but would also consider the new X-Star. Think I would buy the SAN and watch the next 2 years of X-Star to see what they tweak. I am a big boat fan though - like the X-30 and LSV.

Tower - Stock Nautique tower with a bimini that is barely lower than the speakers and attaches to the upper part of the tower.

Racks - NVert - HATE the Nauti clips - the damn bungees are ALWAYS in the way!

Lighting/Speakers/Amps - I would call this guy up and invite him to spend the week at my house pimping out my boat, minus the neon.
http://svtsupercharged.com/gallery/boat

Sacs - I would plumb 2 500lb sacs into the back, after switching the TE slanted hard tanks with the LE flat tanks. Might also figure out how to plumb a 250lb sac under the playpen and make the playpen permanent.

I'd also custom up that damn annoying seat and cooler so I could get to the storage area without having to move everyone's flip flops and lifting the ENTIRE seat and the seat/cooler top looks like it belongs on the boat, not just added on.

Boat: 2003 X-Star, all black

Sound System: two Boss B-530's and two Boss B-70's on the tower, 2000w 4-channel Fosgate amp for the tower speakers, two 12" Fosgate punch subs w/ 1000w amp, and six Fosgate 6.5" full range speakers for the interior.

Tower: Stock X-Star, the 2003 tower looks badass

Ballast: Mastercraft's Triple KGB ballast system...and a whole bunch of hot chicks

Racks: Wakeside Battleracks

Horn: A tower-mounted semi-truck air horn...for good measure.

Boards: Hyperlite Premier, Parks, and TFD...and a Liquid Force team edition. and a few Cassette wakeskates.

Tow Vehicle: Ok, here's where it gets tricky...I want a 2003 Escalade EXT, lifted 8" on 37's. BUT, I want to make a custom lifted trailer on 37's with airbags to match the lifted truck. It would trip people out, like "how is the boat gonna get in the water? It's too high up!" Then I flip the airbag switch, the trailer drops to normal height, and we're off for a day on the lake. Only something you can do if you win the lottery.

The only prob you would have is that you hitch point would be way up in the air and the back would sink so if you ramp is very steep then your boat would have hell loading back on the trailer.

I would just make sure my boat matched my truck. Probably take a little bit of everybody's boats and make the dream boat, everyone has things they hate about things. I would make sure to have two though, I would tow one with a Cadillas XLT on 22 spinners, my trailer would have spinners as well, I would just tow it around to flaunt it, that could be fun to do at times, pick up lots of HOTT chicks. Then my other one would be a lifted'97 ford crew cab ( i like that style) list it up about 12 inches with some 38's, put a big roll bar on it with the lights and everything.
My boards and other equipment, I would have a little bit of everything, wouldn't be able to just pick certain things out.

2004 Mastercraft X80
You can get almost everything from Mastercraft except for the camera system. You also wouldnt need fat sacs bc the boat comes with a 1500 lb or so ballast system. This boat is sweet. It can hold 15 people, is 28 feet long, and has an 80 gallon fuel tank. If I had as much money as your friend supposedly does i would look into this boat.

For starters I would get a 55'X22' houseboat. On one side I would park my '04 B-52 and on the other side I would park my 30' Eliminator. That way when I wake up in the morning we could go out and rip the glass, come back to the HB to eat and in the afternoon fly across the lake to the party spot in the offshore special.

Did I mention the Heli-pad?

The boat would be a BU VLX loaded to the gills
Stereo system would be pushing about 10,000 watts with a PA system
I like the Idea of the semi truck air horn so all those wallys will get the hell out of your way
I'd also have a tower mounted digital video camera with drivers and passanger tv screens. Capable of recording every run for everyone with the push of a button
The truck I'd have would be the '04 H1 - Thats right the H1 OG style none of that H2 soccer mom yuppie type shizzle

Damn I need to win the lotto Evil or Very Mad

w/o a doubt 2004 X-star, Defcon 4's, 2 rockford fosgate 12s and some rockford fosgate power amps. 2 more 500 sacks in the back and 2 250s in the front (along with the stock 1200) You gotta get a pimpin truck too-lifted Ford F-350 black like the boat. Also, some ladies.

04 X_STAR fully loaded with additional weight system set up on the dashboard, 2 500 lb ballast bags in rear compartment and 2 250 lb ballast bags in the bow. a Kicker audio system w/ 6 tower speakers. And tower lights- 2 front and 3 back. Then i would have lf substance balance and subjekt with ultra suctions. A hype gate and broadcast.
Then i would buy tons of land sell my house and build a lake on the new land with my house like half on the lake and half off with docks and sliders connected to the deck. with a bunch off kickers and sliders all over and surrounded by beaches so there is always butta conditions.

SAN TE I like the light blue with the dark blue probably 2000 lbs of ballast or so lake house lifted 2500 Sierra Diesel then alot of board and bindings combos and that sysytem Jt09 showed. If there is a system that could make you go deaf riding behind a boat that may be it.

Wakehype,

do you have a pic or pics of your wake w/ 2600lbs + wedge?

There is an 03 VLX on our lake but I dont think they run full ballast much. They have beginner kids. Also, I havent been that close to see how big the wake really is.

Thanks
